Default Pictures of my lunar Lander

The Lunar Landing Module is almost completed

I will cover all of this with What Rick at Raamat suggested - a very thin foam, and then carpet. The wiring will go above the foam so it can be gotten to.

This is two rolls worth of the heavyier Raamat, so maybe 30 or 40 pounds. Should keep the car livable on a daily basis with a very open exhaust, pumps running, and the straight cut gears in the V-1 supercharger.

hey brendan, the doors let through a surprising amount of road noise if left uncovered. good work fella, just make sure you dont stack it on your first test drive !!

Its not light, but the compromise is that it needs to be heavy. Hopefully this will be enough. One layer, including the roof.

That will be one quiet car! I wish I would have done all of that before I installed the new interior. If you don't mind me asking, how much $ was all of that?

Yes, they do nick. I have actually run out of the second roll. I may see if rick can sell me less, or I may get some other smaller package of some other brand (though rick is great, and I highly recomend him). I will need to coat these doors. Then it will sound right when I close them.

Even with all this, I am still shooting for under 3k pounds.

Concerning chunking it,
The first drives will be tuning drives for the MS efi, and hopefully will be somewhat low speed fun diversions in my "new" car. This car will see the track though. I can't fathom a roll cage in a car I drive to clients with though, so it will just be DEs and whatever else pops up within a few hundred miles.

I'm an insurance agent, so all pictures will be kept and the car will be insured to a specified value. Thats all we can really do, even after all this work.

I think about 100 dollars a roll with shipping IIRC. So 200. But I did the whole car. You can't get to alot of this unless its stripped like this. The whole firewall is covered, and the area inside the engine bay where the wiper motor and the blow are is also covered to keep that vibration down (hopefully)

Thanks BrendanC, I may have to check into that. There's no way I'll ever have my car interior stripped down like that! One roll would do me plenty for the door panels and rear quarters. It would be nice to cut down a little road noise. Plus the wife thinks the exhaust is just a little too loud.

Brendan,

did you remove the rubber cover that usually sits under the back seats?

I'm doing the same thing next week. Thanks for the pictures.

Are you also planning to spray some foam under the back wheel wells?

Yes, it was all bare metal in the entire car, so I have to replace all that area if its not going to ride like a tin can.

I have heard of the foam in the rear wheel wells - does anyone have a pic of this? I assume its a "crevice" thing. There is an area up the B pillar in the rear wheel well which is very high up and should be blocked off.

The Eagle has landed! Wow, Brendan, I bet that's going to make a huge difference(I second the door suggestion tho).

This must be one of the reasons you were interested in a 4lbs lighter alternator.
