Lots of work. A new intimacy with your car is born, eh?

Is that stuff self-adhesive?
Did it come rolled on the cardboard tube in one of the pix?
Source? Googling Raamat got nothing useful.

Yeah, in the cardboard tube. Maybe I should have cleaned up... Its is a peal off back, but the surface has to be TOTALLY clean. This will be easier in the 89, and many other cars with some simple spririts cleaning, but this car was dirty like you wouldn't believe. There was a pound of dirt and twigs INSIDE the Heater/AC core box.

Ah, I found it: http://www.raamaudio.com/

The cat tracks you see are inevitable... They just use thier claws more whith a car cover. They are filled down all the time. I can't wash the car without the windows in.

I read in my research that Dynamat extreme is the only stuff that can compare. And that stuff is about as expensive as gold. The amounts you get for the prices people pay, you may as well buy stuff with Porsche stamped on it.

I will have to do my doors, so I will see what is out there or as I mentioned if Rick can send a smaller amount to me.

Damn cats -- I finally put some strong spring hinges on the door from the garage to the house, because the cats love to follow the other half out into the garage, then get trapped out there with nothing better to do than scratch up my car... Now, the garage door slams shut as soon as you let go of it. Problem solved!

Well, the cat's food and ****ter is out here in the garage, so...

Does anyone have a pic of where this external dampening stuff goes in the wheel well?

Side note - today was the day to remove the windscreen from the 89S4 sitting next to the 78 - you know, save money now, and spend more later to get a new one for the 89.
Sawing with the piano wire, getting it all ready to remove, allmost out, pulling at the bottom......

CCCRRRAAAACCCKKKK.

Nice.

Windshield info? I have seen a few threads, I'll do a search.

Thought the wheel well foam filling went in at the B-pillar (6.5" speaker) speaker
opening.
Tempted but haven't foamed my rear wheel well yet.

Ernest (NYC) PO had only squares of Dynamat installed in the rear hatch.

Brendan, You have a link to the manufacturer of this stuff? Did you just stick it on? Roll it down? Did you apply heat to get it to conform to contours?

I used brown bread to do some sound insulating, it looks a lot like what Brendan used. It was quite a bit cheaper than Dynamat. You peel off the backing and it reveals the insulating material, which looks a lot like a cross between asphalt and black Permatex. It's pretty gummy. It comes in rolls.

Foam earplugs are lighter and cheaper and install in less time.
