Thats "Wheel Ho" btw!
And to be blessed enough to have these incredible wheels, thats ok too!
Thanks for your tips & input the other week on flairing my rear fenders Andrew.
And thanks CeeDee for giving me the encouragement to get them, my new Sport Editions & Kumhos are definately going to be yours once I have these on.
A special thanks to Jeannie too for givin the Kinesis K28Rs up since they were on her shark!

I know there might be some that would say those great looking wheels deserve a better shark. But hey, ya never know, maybe one day I will talk the wife outta her Z4 and into a GTS! Until then, I promise to take good care of them on my DunkelBlau '85S! I'll post pics when they are finally on my shark!

DR, You're the MAN!!! Thanks so much for giving me first shot at being fortunate enough to own these incredible looking wheels!

Can't wait to get my rear fender's flaired so I can put those monster 295s on the rear of my shark!
......just as soon as I sort out that darn fuel smell that came about last weekend

I thought he never would have parted with those!!

I offered my jar of change with over $10k in it and he had no interest.

Enjoy them

Hey Mel, You've got plenty of time to have those beauties mounted in time for Sebring. Can't wait to see them.

Jeannie's blackshark must look funny wearing 4 928 stamped spare wheels.
Wonder how well them skinny spares run with a supercharged V8.

Well, I'm not sure what is going on Jeannie's black shark. I didn't ask last month, but I know once long ago DR mentioned wanting to put a set of 19ers on it. I know whatever goes on it, they'll be awesome for sure.

Cobalt, I guess it was simply that both me & my wife bugged both DR & Jeannie since SITM '05 that if they ever did part with them that we'd love to have first opportunity. I honestly never thought I'd have the chance, & we are very thankful that they remembered our requests. I know that they could have sold them to many others & for that we're very grateful.

I got home just before my wife on Friday when they arrived. I was standing in my driveway still on my cell phone with someone & my wife couldnt wait for me, she started opening one of the boxes wanting to see them! Needless to say I ended that call quick!

Heck, I was so excited about getting them, that when someone asked me things like, "what kind of tires are on them, whats the offsets", etc. I had no clue & obviously did not care! I know now that they have Bridgestone Potenzas. Heck, it was only when I took this pic today of one of the front wheels at the rear of my shark that I read the tire info & only then noticed that the fronts are 255s, not 265s like I thought, & thats even better!

I know am going to refer to them from now on as Smoked Chrome instead of Black Chrome, even though thats what DR & Kinesis calls them. I've had people confuse them with Black Anodized and in reality, they really do looked more like they are smoked and not black. Anyways, I will definately post pics once they are on my shark!

Anyone know what ones are on this car? I want a set. It is not a very good shot but this is one of the cars I looked at before I picked up my '88.

If you have any ideas, please let me know. I do know they are 18's and new aftermarket.

Well it definitely sounds as though they went to the right home and will be well cared for. Good luck with them and make sure you get a good set of wheel locks for those puppies. They are going to look great and am looking forward to some pictures.

BTW if you ever get tired of them, I asked first.

uhhh well, actually a fellow Florida sharker made his same wishes clear a few weeks ago of should I ever part with them. But your request is still noted & hopefully for me that day will never come! Good advice on the wheel locks, I was thinking I pretty much had to get a set. Figured the dealer with actual Porsche locks might be best.

After spending much time choosing wheels, I've finally made my decision and I'm ordering 18" RH ALURAD 3.6 wheels this week.
I just need to confirm what offsets are needed for a 82 928S?

Thanks

UNTS1, Nice Choice. I assume that the image that you posted originally came from an RH Wheel site. According to the US site, the following wheels will fit your '92.

Front
18 x 8.0 52mm offset

Rear
18 x 10.0 54mm offset

If you're in the US, Joe at RH Wheels could confirm the correct fitment for your car. I can attest that they are very nice wheels.
Post pictures when you've got them on!

235x40x18 (front) and 275x35x18 (rear) on 18" wheels is a good balance in maintaining overall tire/wheel height to original...not exact, but very close. (Mich. PS2's in my case) Although pricey, the PS2's are excellent tires with a really good ride for the performance that they offer. They also have cutting edge tread designs, that isn't too contemporary looking for our cars. I have no regrets with my tire choice.
Also proportionate front to back tire width matters to some, and these are very close in that regard as well.
I came up with an alternative 10mm wider front & rear tire combo, but the tire profile (aspect ratio) had to be reduced by 5% for both in order to maintain proper tire/wheel height. Also there were less choices, and cost for lower profile was considerably more.
