Interesting but look a little HotWheels-ish to me. I like your RH's better.

That's it! Hotwheels, it does look like a Hotwheels car. I like the 3.6s too, they just look a litte dated IMHO

Chuck, you are correct, as far as offset. But most of the aftermarket wheels for the 928 look like the Cup Wheels, Turbo Twists, 996 Carrera 5 (and 10) Spoke Ultra Lights, and the 997 Carrera III. Or a variation of any of those wheels. Nothing really different or distinctive. And I understand there is only so much you can do with a round dish, but it would be nice to see something different, attractive and not tacky, and you not have to second mortgage your house to buy them. When I owned my 924, I put some wheels on them that looked like the turbofan of a jet engine, and they weren't too expensive either. Never saw another Porsche with wheels like that before or since. Can't remember who made the wheels, American Racing I think.

I don't think the 3.6s look dated at all. I like'em!

These are what I used to have before I got my 5-spoke wheels and are quite dated.

Maybe we should have a thread for "Who's got (or had) the uglyist wheels?" - I think I be in the running.

To each his own but it is one of the most copied wheels ever, which says something. I feel they are timeless and if you don't like them I would be happy to take yours off your hands cheap.

They bear a general likeness to the appearance of the 997 Turbo wheels.

I don't think the 3.6 look dated on our cars - to the contrary. Their combination of a classic and aggressive look makes them the perfect update, IMO. "Timeless". Well put, Cobalt.
I think that contemporary wheels with sharp angles conflict with the smooth, round lines on our cars. But that's opinion.
What makes all wheels look dated, is a smaller wheel with a higher profile tire. What makes the original 3.6 Turbos look dated is the higher lip profile that the original design had, particulary on the fronts that used a smaller center with a 2" step-up on the rim, IIRC.
Larger wheels with lower lips or reverse drop center design combined with low profile tires add a much more contemporary look, IMO.

Yes, the speedlines have a heavy lip and a gradual step. The newer designs have made away with this and have a very flat lip with a larger dia center hub. The center hub on the speedlines use a center that would accommodate a 17" lip today. The advantage of the speedline design is great strength and with low profile tires the newer designs bend too easily.

I've actually considered selling them to buy something a bit more contemporary but, I wouldn't sell them cheap.... Besides, they do not match any of your cars since the centers are midnight blue metallic. This particular set of 3.6sa look like jewelry they are so nice. For now, that idea has been put on hold til after the kitchen renovation is done...

This is exactly how I feel. When I had the other GATS with the reverse drop center 18sa sitting next to the blue GATS with the 3.6sa I liked the look of the black GATS better. I still love the 3.6sa on the blue GATS but will probably have the centers on the IFg'd wheels painted either silver or midnight blue metallic and to match.

... I bent the lip on one of the fronts of my car on what seemed like a pretty insignificant pot hole (if there is such a thing!).

Yeah, I am doing the Kitchen addition thing too... fully understand.

The speedlines are much heavier duty than the RH's and are very hard to bend, although I put one out of round once hitting a very deep pot hole at 90 mph. I was lucky it was on the inside and easily repairable.

Did anyone post pics of the special Porsche "pancake" Wheels with the Platinum Anodized finish yet? I think the finish was an "option" during some years. Was it cool or what?
