Default Is there Life after 200K

Anyone ever heard of a shark making it to 200k and over? I'm just wondering how long the dream will last with a bit of TLC?

there are stories of the 600k shark... I believe JB has well over 200, Joe Serio's S4 is right at 200 and still ROCKS...

My odometer stopped working at 99K, but I suspect actuall mileage is at lest double that. The 928 engines seems to go on forever but only if the maitnance is kept up.

Someone tried to sell his shark back to the factory at 300k kilometers with the first engine. They told him to enjoy it for another 300k...

There are several 928ers on this forum with over 200K and still ticking! Several of the supercharged cars are well over 150K too! How many 20 year old cars with 150K+ miles and 400 supercharged whp do you know of?

I'm at 155k miles in my 89 and the car is mechanically like new. Compression still 200 in all cylinders. Negligible leakdown. The motor is bulletproof unless you drive around and around in big circles at 6500RPM.

Hell no Dude. There is no such thing . engine needs rebuild at 99k .. trans needs rebuild at 100k ... rain reaks kill you at 60k .... ohh .... ummm... waaait ...

That was my 911SC.

Let's see ..... 928's will do unlimeited miles. My 928's have had a million collective miles and I've rocked the worlds of many a teen in a ricer. How's 170k miles and 299/299 to the ground?

Rich (blau928) has 225K miles IIRC. Had a cam nose incident recently, but other than that he's still going strong AFAIK.

215k and 200 psi on mine. Car still has a set of rhino nuts when you step on the gas. The rest of the car may go to **** but it will continue to be one of the fastest piece of **** on the road. Thats for sure. It's all in the maintenence.

When I got my 86.5, the odometer had been broken for 3 years at close to 200K. The PO used this car as a daily driver. I used the car as a daily driver and put on at least 30K miles. I'm certain the car had well over 250K before it met its demise. It was also boosted for the last 25K miles of its life.
