Default Big Wheels? Need Big Brakes. Pics.

So you don't stare at the really itty bitty calipers.
I rolled the 78 out this weekend to do more of the sound deadnening material, and clean up the HVAC stuff (ended up removing it all to clean it). I placed the rear quarters in the hole just to see what it would be like. I'm really liking the idea of removing as much trim as possible. It really seems to make the car look so much newer.

But boy those wheels are big. I will need an inch spacer to fill out the fenders I rolled (A big too much maybe). Those are 10" wheels, and 265s with a 65 offset. I think tens can handle 285s right? I was standing in the car to play with the heights to see how far I shoudl push the wheels out.

Thanks Andy - neither can I.

Randy - The paint was off the car. I cheated and then smoothed it all with bondo where the galvanized metal ripped a bit from the rolling.

305x30x18 will fit on those 10s and fill out the rear fender, especially since you have "rolled " them

285 can then go up front, without much fuss.

305 huh? Nice. I'll wear these out pretty quickly. I did not roll the front though. The aluminum was really weird when I was sanding it and dinging it to cover the run strip holes, so I stopped there. I may be limited a bit with the 8s up front.

Thanks BC. I did all the prep and final sanding, and then paid a local shop to do the color and clear.

And then I dropped my color matched fiberglass wing on the concrete..... ;(

You like it? I'm really trying to make sure I keep this thing looking mean. Dark, forboding. Body color or black, tinted windows. Smoked lenses will go on. I'm not even going to make it too loud. Loud announces too much sometimes.

What do you mean it won't be loud? Isn't your Vortech one of the straight cut gear models?

I have been thinking for a long time that when I get the money to completely build up a 928 it would be a similar color to that with either body color or black wheels. The flat dish wheels on my car look like crap, so I may try the look first by painting them when I get new tires. After seeing yours I bet they'll look good.

Well, I mean, there's THAT, but it I am also trying to keep THAT noise down too. Ceramic bearings, etc. It could just be a bad steering pump. Don't all ford sound the same with thier plastic pumps?

Its a love or hate. My wife thought I put on the spare tire when she took the pic (I'm standing in the car in the second photo)

I told her to take a pic of just the car. That didn't work I guess. Better would be not showing me at all.
