Default 60-100 runs?

So what should a stock S4 auto (2.20) run the 60-100mph in? Sure MK can do it in 6...but my car has 60less whp & far more weight + an automatic?

I tried a couple runs today....both were cruising in top gear...with a kickdown to second. The kickdown does have a slight delay...but not much 1st run was 7.72 & the second (other direction) was 7.56.....I'm guessing anything around 8 seconds is normal for an automatic S4?

I really like the 60-80 jump...with the tall 2.20 gears that really hits the sweet spot & BWAAAAHHH your gone...60-80 took just under 3 seconds...about 2.8!

Figure 0-60 in 6 seconds with 60-100 in 8 makes for a 0-100 in about 14 which is about right for an auto S4 (2.20)?

Tomorrow's headlines from the Stockton Record....
"Officer catches himself street racing....writes himself a ticket and impounds his own car. Says he is being unfairly targeted and singled out."

Then he hires an attorney to fight the self ticket and takes the 5th. Is sentenced to the 60 days in the San Joaquin County Jail to be guarded by himself. Then Brian brings action against the county for Police brutality and wins the case. Jolene gets the money and Brian is still in Jail now serving two terms.

Then the arrested ex-officer sues the arresting officer for violating his civil rights & wins a huge settlement.....but since the ex-officer doesn't own anything they take his 928 as just punishment! But that doesn't satisfy the complaintant....so they take a cylinder from his commuter car leaving him with only 3!

i just pulled up some spread sheet from the early 1990s. i got all of my friends cars with 928s, vets, M3s, etc all documented. pretty funny. And I thought im crazy now! anyway, 60-100 in the 85 928S for sale, i timed at around 7 seconds. (5 speed) 2.8 seconds 60-80 (safer, and less chance of a ticket, but more variables) is GREAT. im still near that now, but that could be gearing.
the holbert car at its best was near 5.8 and anything around 6 is fine. when i had my cam problems, i was near 6.5 to 6.7 seconds. (and thats still at near 305rwhp) . my 285rwhp 5 liter part euro was near 6 seconds, but more like 6.2-3ish. a stock 6 liter stroker, is near 6 seconds, with 350ftlbs of touque, but only 300hp. (full weight stock car otherwise)

I figured 8 seconds for a stock 2.20 S4 auto is about normal....I think the 60-80 is so quick from the gearing....at 60mph in second gear the rpms really jump to about 5200...redline shift at 6200 right at about 80! Thats some serious fun! The 60-80 typically pulls about .28-.30G on the G-tech! Once the car hits third the rpms drop way down and it doesn't pull nearly as hard..maybe .2G I think my car will dyno slightly high...maybe 265-270..but haven't had a chance yet?

I think youre right there! by the way, i ALWAYS do the 60-100 in 1 gear (3rd), that way its like a rolling dyno. even 60-80 is done in3rd. Im sure, even with the gear shift, that 2.7/8 seconds or so in 3rd, would be helped by 20% more HP to the wheels over that speed range in 2nd! so, call it around 2.4 seconds for me?? someday, at the track, ill zoom in on the speedo with the video and catch some times.

Or 0-100 in about 7.0....that is serious supercar territory there.....Thats about what the Enzo and CGT do? But 400whp in a 2800lb 944 will be quick!

I think the idea is to get in the gear you need under 60 and measure the real time between 60 and 100. Start at 55 and end at 105, doing the "flying mile" through those speeds. Thats sure as hell what those 951 guys are doing. They are already in full tilt boost by 60 because they started before that.
