and btw, the strip joints are called "Gentlemans Clubs" out here.
oops, right you are!! but in hollyweird, the **** and bull would have to be called a "colorful or flameboyant" establishment uh-oh, my 928 is starting to blush (something that didn't show up on the carfax??)

Just an update:

I'm in San Felipe Mexico, found a computer on the web. We should be in our hotel in Hollywood by 10PM PST on Thursday.

you'd be surprised - they even have cell phones - but power is typically cut off after 10pm, so you have to download any **** you want during the day, and print it out for evening use... hahahha...

OK So let's pick a place either around Hollywood or West LA to meet on Saturday night for dinner and some drinks. H-P is stayng in Hollywood so this would be a stones throw to downtown, West LA, Santa Monica . We need a restaurant that has ample parking as I know many do not want to park on the streets of LA. Any suggestions? Let's hit this quick so we can ink it ASAP.

old favs that come to mind: tiajuana (cheap/good food) on olympic and bundy or guidos (itialian/pricey/need res.) on santa monica and bundy come to mind w/plenty of off street parking... sushi house on pico and bundy also, but rear parking is limited...

on a sat night most decent places will be pretty crowded... might rain fri pm/sat/sun am this weekend....

So I go into Hertz (I'm at the Hyatt Regency on Ave of the Stars right now) and say I would like to know the sportiest car with GPS - she upgrades me from a Toyota Corolla to a.....wait for it......2006 Audi S4 convertible for $25 extra (over the entire rental period, not per day). Damn thing has paddle shifters.

We made it from the San Diego Airport to the hotel in well under 2 hours. Off to dinner, as Keith suggested, lets figure this out ASAP to make this work, we are 2 blocks off Santa Monica Blvd so Hollywood is just over there.

OK...you confused me...I could have sworn you said you were staying in Hollywood. Oh well.

How about this, there are some very cool restaurants down in Marina Del Rey. The Cheesecake Factory is one of my favs...big menu so lot's to choose from. The Warehouse is a good one too! Since you are in CenCity, the Marina is 10 minutes from you. Ample parking down there, a tad south of West LA for any one headed north from the OC. Easy to get to from the valleys too! The Marina gets a bit crowded on Saturday nights, but that is mostly in the summer. Not sure how the weather will be as they are predicting rain during the day...but we all know out here you can never count on what the weather is going to do. Sunset Blvd would be great also as there are a ton of restaurants in Hollywood and great for cruising down the strip with the 928. If it is raining though, it will just be a mess.

Anyone want to shout out if they agree with the Marina?

Keith,
When I booked this hotel I thought it was in Hollwood. I didn't really know what Century City was (sorry, dumb Wisconsin boy here)

Just finished a drive around the LBGP track, well part of it. Then cruised Hollywood BLVD and Sunset Strip. Figured a Thursday night would be much better (traffic wise) vs the weekend. Fun sights, found Whiskey-Go-Go & The Comedy Store (sorry, I'm a sucker for old landmarks)

Time to crash. See you all Saturday!

I haven't seen much response from folks. I think they are concerned about the rain...(welcome to LA )!

I will suggest that we meet at the Cheescake Factory in Marina Del Rey at 7:00PM.
(4142 Via Marina, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292-5301)
Map for Cheesecake Factory

I will contact a few folks directly to get their butts down there.

Let me know if this is OK with you guys.
