Yes, need to get them off my phone and down size them, it looks to be Black and has a dull hue, not gloss like standard RTV I've seen before.

Thanks!

Dave, I'd take a piece of wood and lay it up against the head(s) a few inches above the intake, and try and use that as the fulcrum point. Then pry against the upper section of the manifold. The lower depending on how early/late the kit was put together could have a flimsy lower plenum. You don't want to bend that up. Also you may want to remove the water bridge, if you haven't already. It will give you better access and visibility. It really is a game of trying to not damage anything as you pry all around it. The Right Stuff RTV that was on mine made it a b*tch to remove and open up the intake. I thought I'd never get the intercooler out. Good luck.

Electronic or hard copy? I wouldn't mind one for when I put it all back together.

Thanks Chris, sound like good Ideas, more leverage and looks like I will need to remove the snout to get that water bridge off, yes?

Here's some pic's.

Hans, yes I would love to have a Install document (30 some odd pages from what I've read).
Thank you!!

Dave

That kit was installed to stay. Better to seal the edges vs vacuum leaks it's going to take some patience to pry it up.

That black stuff is called "The Right Stuff" made by Permatex. It's really good as a gasket maker. Super strong and does not come apart easily.

Dave I was forgetting about how big the snout is on yours. That "may" need to come off to get at the water bridge. Like Andrew said, that gasket maker is some serious stuff, and requires proper applications of prying and patience.

After work I went at it once again, just enough room to remove the Water Bridge
Chris you were correct, this now gives me more places to start carefully prying.

Wondering what could soften this stuff up, any ideas?

Thanks guys!

Much better access now Dave! I'm not totally sure, but if I remember correctly acetone will help soften it up. At least now you have much better access, and can get in there with a large pry bar and block of wood. Once you get it started separating, it should start coming loose fairly easily. It's just getting it started that's the hard part.

BTW, I thought that you had decided to keep the s/c on there? Did you wind up selling the kit?

I'm keeping the SC and Headers, moving them to another car I own w/ LSD, it's the same color w/ a black interior. Then putting this really clean (almost perfect stock interior) and documented car back to stock and selling it.

Thanks Chris for acetone tip

You're very welcome. Sounds like a good plan. You'll learn a bunch about the system. Although I'm no expert, I'm here to help.

(I guess it's been so long that they don't exist anymore.) I did see one pic somewhere that showed a very similar adjuster setup for the tensioner to the one I did, but it was on the front side instead of the back of the bracket. My setup can be swapped to the front, and I very well may do that, as it would give more support to the shoulder bolt/spacer for the tensioner pulley. We'll see.

Also a pic of mine just mocked up hanging off the supercharger snout. S/C pulley is not bolted on so the alignment looks wrong.
should have asked..i think i still have the wooden mock up in he attic. No issues with beltslip whatsoevahhhhhhh! just tire slip.

i also extended the coolant neck for added belt clearance. Got a spare, cut the end off and welded it to a stock one.

Got it off yesterday evening, used a small block of wood placed in the valley next to the hole for the crossover bridge/T-stat to WP hole, now I know why that pocket is there in the block
Uses a medium sized Crow Bar and pushed, took a bit of wiggling to get it all loose.

Kristine helped me lift it out, dam that SC assembly is heaver than I thought, all should go smooth now until I get to the Headers

Thanks,

Dave

In process on the water neck now. Already cut and cleaned, and ready for my welder guy. I bought a 6" piece of aluminum tube in the same diameter and wall thickness, and added approx. 3".

Thanks for the inspiration on the bracket Tony.

Dave, glad you got it off of there. Now make sure and document well with pics. LOL.
