Yeah, Tony, I noticed that too. I've seen one other 928 with an upside-down mounted whipple, totally custom, and another local (Richard Andrade) has been working on this concept for several years (posted earlier in this thread, I think).

I also like where you mounted it so that you are still using the stock duel fans

sounds like we all agree, next to the intake manifold looks best. problem is if I intercool it I will have to go back to the outside route.

Tony... yeah that was soooooo much work and thinking to put together the upside down ts setup. Yes the ts design kept the stock air filter and the stock throtle body. Also everything hung on the intake manifold just like the stock stuff did. After I had everything all put together I could barely close the hood. I was afraid the engine torquing on the mounts would cause it to hit the hood and dent when I found the rotrex and did some research I realized how much less work it would be for myself and anyone else that wanted to do this. I still have all the parts I built if you would like to see them.

Please do if you can. It would be neat to see the custom fabrication of your project. I love one off stuff.

If you notice the front of my intake maniforld gets very skinny and the manifold was still right up against the foam on the hood. If I shaved a little here and there I could have gotten the supercharger down a 1/4 inch and sitting on the assembly the routs the coolent. Problem is that was again more work and maybe even build another intake manifold. If I was to do it again I know exactly the way I would go! Have you seen the oldschool style superchargers that draw from the top and exit out the boottom, insead of drawing air from the back. Well thats what I would use, and it would make things very simple and cool. The only trick then would be to come up with a good looking intake manifold like Robert disigned with his cad. It can be done though if someone has the time and patients to make it happen. Oh yeah and extra money laying around to waste.

Would have looked cool, but I wonder how even the AFR would have been across the cylinders.

Yes I thought so too, but there's just not enough room with that coolant bridge there. If someone could come up with a different design on the bridge then the supercharger could be lowered into the valley and Kaboom... all kinds of cool options!!! For starters we would have a lot more room for larger pulleys giving adjustability for the supercharger, have room for intercooling on top, make some cool tube designs, ect ect. The best part is you wouldnt have to mess with the intake system, throttle body, vacuum tubes or anything!!!!!! So someone make a different coolent bridge hey.

Hey does anybody have a BEGI they want to sell. I know lots of you guys have Shark tuned your cars and don't need them any more, but I haven't yet, so I need one untill I can get her dialed in right.

I´ve always liked the upside-down twinscrew idea best suited for 928... This allows (at least in my sketches) to avoid major compromises regadring intake manifold and intercooling design. You could use a properly designed (and large enough) front mounted intercooler and then fabricate 2x dual plenum (Lehmann -style) intakes to get perfect air distribution between cylinders.

Add 2.8LC or 3.6LC Kenne Bell into that combo and I think you will be there.

Yeah that would be great idea. Personally after all the time I spent, I think I have a good answer. That would be to run the supercharger upside down, then l would push the air back into a water intercooler where the original air filter sat. Then run the air forward into your Lehman style intakes. The only problem is getting fresh air to the supercharger. Oh nevermind, scratch that.... we could use a magnason Gen 6 front inlet style superchager!! So there ya go. Now who wants to step up and spend $20,000 to develope it????

You can have it, if you want it. Well not the supercharger, but the intake manifold....
