Hmmm ... thanks Glenn, I saw it on Motorweek some time ago, they mentioned that C&D had done a head-to-head. Guess I misheard or they fell prey to the same thing.

Hey Dave. I'm not sure if the Hall sensor is working or not. I cleaned/reseated the connector as best as possible, but there was no seat-o-the-pants difference afterwards. I need to head up to see DR, and put the Hammer to it.

How's things in the Chamberlain world???

Heinrick said it best, most anybody would rather have a Porsche 928 than a Neon no matter how fast they are.

Do that. I know from experience that a GT with a dead Hall sensor won't outrun anything. Not even a Honda Civic VX.

Busy man. Busy. I cannot even go to the Frenzy they're so busy.

Until then they were fun and fast. I routinely kept up and even passed stock or near stock 5.0L Mustangs of that era. Back then, that was very impressive for a 4 banger.

The Colt line was actually Mitsubishi.

Be carefull you don't run into one of these. At least it's German BTW that was a leased car with stock internals on a 1.8turbo above ^^^ They pulled everything off it and returned it to VW at the end of the lease. Don't wanna buy one of those.

Michael
That's ETis waaaaay too low for a 11sec. car. Smells like BS.

I had an 88 Turbo Daytona Z too. Pretty quick little car. Fell apart at about 90k mile s though. I ended up trading it in on a rusty old chevelle with a 454, lol.

There's a guy that posts at one of the other 928 sites that has(had?) a Chrysler turbo minivan that ran a 13.50 @ 20psi of boost. LOL...now THAT'S a sleeper.

Goldmember demolished one of those a while back...say didn't I offer the car to you at SITM Chris? I sold it for $8,800 to a guy in Tenn. I just might have a twin turbo S4 that I may be able to be talked into parting with next year...if the price is right.

There are sooo many cars out there that are faster than our 928's. I didn't think I was buying the fastest car on the road when I got into 928's. However, there is a solution...

I was beaten by an old datsun when driving my 91 GT back from DC. Actually not just beaten, spanked. A local place where we dyno has more hopped up civics (400 fwhp +) than any other car. The last time we were there they had some beater that turned 400 something, they weren't sure what exacty cause his wheels were spinning.
What makes things even worse is they intentionally leave some of these cars looking like **** so you have no idea what you are getting yourself into.

IIRC the SRT-4 could run a 1-2 sec. faster ET with a $1.50 mod, I think it was just a minor vac plumbing change....

My dad had a Turbo Voyager minivan as a company car sometime around 88-90. Even stock with the automatic, it was very quick.

One of my old neighbors spent a couple thou$and building a supercharged 1996 4.6L Mustang with all forged internals, ported heads, ran 11psi, Steeda 5-link rear suspension, and some other goodies. One of his freinds had a Turbo Shadow with just a boost controler and wider tires added that would beat him everytime.
