Good old S. Florida.

I did hear recently that they are cracking down on Interstate drivers driving even 10mph over the speed limit.

They get me here left and right also as I drive like a maniac.

A while back I got hit doing 88 in a 55 on 95 in Delray. A big ticket but the ticket attorneys down here are pretty good and got me off.

Got me off of 3 in one year.

I am glad to hear that the case was dismissed but in many ways the officer still won. What took him 10-15 minutes out of his life to write that ticket caused Sab far too much grief. Far too much time and effort to win.

Keith: Ask Ron_H for the website of this SoCal traffic attorney that has bailed him out a few times.

Another site some here might find interesting is http://www.ticketassassin.com

Filing a complaint might help bring that back a little more towards a balance of wasted time.

Keith, try this guy: http://www.traffic-ticket-attorney.com/

This is the man. Look at his kill record on that website and notice the charges.
When Sherman appears in court in LA county, the DA himself or herself appears on behalf of the prosecution. They take this guy seriously. And he still wins. He isn't cheap. He is effective. I have experiences in which the judge flat out lied to me about applicability of penal code sections saying certain ones (on which I based my motions) didn't apply in his courtroom. Next day in court Sherman files the same basic argument founded on the same sections and the judge smiles and says the case is dismissed.

Glad to hear how this panned out! I read it a while back and forgot about it, I'm glad you kept us informed.

On another note, a friend of mine got a ticket while I was in the car...any info on fighting tickets in good 'ol NYS?

Congrats. I had some trepidation reading this thread as a police officer. As in all professions, there are good and bad. I have met many crooked lawyers and doctors, but unless you are affected by them personally, no one cares. But one bad cop, and everyone holds a grudge. Good for you for beating a bad apple. As a military veteran I hold integrity above all else. If I'm not 100%, I don't move. There will be another one. I have to look in the mirror when I shave everyday, and I'm not about to compromise myself for anyone. As for the radar debate, it is not always accurate. It depends on the user.

Hi Tigershark,
great to hear from an officer, I have great respect for anyone in your line of work. And I completely understand that there are only a few bad apples, but man does it suck when you "get it" from one of them. What I don't understand is that he wrote me up for over 100 MPH, knowing that that could cause significant problems for me... The attorney told me I could have been arrested for exceeding 99 MPH (or better him stating that I exceeded...) So I am glad I did not try to argue with the trooper...
But it all turned iut right and I will leave it at that. I will not file complaints or anything like that.
I just have to be extra carefull now since the 105 MPH shows on my record. And even though it got dismissed, it will play into a judges decission if I should get another ticket.
So I guess I will have to keep the boost at 6PSI for now
cheers,
Sab.
