It's not exactly cherry, so far I only know what the pictures show. I have not had time to start digging any deeper.

It was purchased from an insurance auction in Raleigh / Durham, North Carolina

Serial Number: WPOJBO928KS860223

Mileage is unknown at this time

Zoiks! Don't know anything about the car, but that looks about as bad as what happened to Hans Stuck's former factory car.

Jim,
Are you going to use the dash for another project? If not, and want to sell, pm me.

Thanks

Default Parts car only...

The car is a parts car only - obviously. It would exactly no sense to attempt a restoration. However, you could make a rather fabulous 928 out of a mechanically and interior trashed latter model 928.
Figure a 500 to a thousand hours to swap it all over and "never" for a rebuild. It is totalled. The 928 unit-frame is not particularly rigid to begin with and even if somehow all pulled back into place, it would not hold the shape.

Hey you vultures, get in line. Any parts on this car that Jim decides to part with, well let’s put it this way. I'm typing this on his computer.

Those are factory OEM wheels. One is in two pieces, not sure on the condition of the other three.

Jim has two cars being restored; one is a track car so he has a need for 99% of the useful parts off this car (reason why he bought it).

It looks like the jaws of life opened the drivers door. The drivers compartment looks in tact, so I wonder what shape the driver is in.

Yet another trashed 928, with it's windscreen intact - these cars really do have impressive passenger cells.

Actually, it's extremely rigid which is why they are so hard to fix after an accident.

he was taking it to the track in Benson on a regular basis if memory serves me right

Sport Seats??? I gotta say i have always thought our frames are tough as hell which is why the car doesn't rattle 20 years later and doors shut like vaults.
