Factory TT hollow spokes
#16
I have a set of the ones pictured by Dave, but they are solid spoke ones, but still Porsche. I wonder how much weight is saved on the hollows? The previous versions on the hollows are pretty good.

I have a set of 8" front and 10" rear on my 90 GT and they fit fine. Is it standard for the 90 GT to have the fenders rolled, mine have the fenders? Dave if I buy the 11" for the rear do I have to push out the rear fender 1/2" to clear the rim/tire? My front rims fit without rubbing however my center cup would hit the hub bearing dust cover and not seat in the groove so I installed 1/4" spacer. Do you guys have problems with the center cup hitting the cup cap?

We use milled down wheel bearing dust covers. We do have the milled dust covers available at $99 a pair. They retail at $41.63 each new, unmodified.
If you want the 11" rears with 45mm offset, you will need to push the fenders out approx. 1/2". We have done them this far without damaging the factory paint.
The 90' GT should have factory rolled lips.
If you use a 35 series front tire, 245 will fit fine and work great.
335/30/18's will fit if you extend the fender out a couple more inches, with GT2 wheels.......(as in the pics, widebody with GT2 wheels. 12" rears but same size fronts as the twin turbo and 245/35/18 P-Zero's.)

Yup, im sold. Those will be my next wheels. I need 295s on the back.
very,Very nice. they complement the shape of the car nicely i think. They are smooth with no recessed bolts or nooks and crannys to clean around.
Thanks for the pics.

Randy I have "replica" wheels 18 Inch available for $995 a set 4 they are NOT hollow spokes so are heavier than the Factory wheels but they have the LOOK ! Just think of it as extra downforce

The hollow spoke Twin Turbo wheels are not cheap or easy to find. I can get them all day long at $2000+ a set wheels only, but getting a deal on them is a different story. I have one set with Pirelli P-Zero Corsa's destined for my track car but someone may be able to talk me out of them for the right (large) price. Pirelli P-Zero Corsa's are a DOT legal track tire with a treadwear rating of 60. Not your daily driver type of tires and not cheap.
If you only want the appearance, Jim's might fit the bill. The aftermarket ones are only 10" rears also I believe and are not nearly as strong even though they are heavier.

BTW Randy, GT2 12" rears will fit your GTS. You still need the 8" w/50mm offset for the front though. Most GT2 sets come with an 8.5" 40mm offset front that will not fit the 928.
Oh yeah, GT2 sets command a premium price.

Dave.."are not nearly as strong even ...." And what do you base that statement on ? I have never seen any engineering studies to support such an opinion. I have seen many, many bent Factory Porsche wheels especially the cast wheels but have no way to judge the relative strength or weakness of wheels.

Three Wheelin'
When fitting these new wheels, does it upset the handling of the car when you only nominally increase the front tire size in comparison to the back? It would seem on paper at least that you would be creating a significant understeer situation. Wouldn't a car that has pretty equal weight distribution benefit from fairly equal tire sizes?
