Default Was i speeding officer?

I got a ticket late last night on my way home. Check out the officier's description of the event.

Quote: "Observed above named defendant travelling at an extremely high rate of speed, est over 100mph+, in a clearly marked 45mph zone while S/B in center lanes on Roosevelt blvd. Defendant stated "I'll only admit to 90".

BIG emphasis on "+"

The ticket was for 'careless driving'. $115.50.

LOL, i love this state.

100+ in a 45, and he didn't haul you in? No shiny bracelets? I always thought a flagrant infraction of that sort would get you a free tour of the downtown area!

Probably depends on your attitude. I was very respectful, and i mentioned a lot of philly cops names that i know.

If i'd copped an attitude i have no doubt he might've arrested me.

I was just in traffic court yesterday for my 79 in 65 two months ago. I got one year PBJ and a trip to the one night class where they show the automotive snuff films. What really cracked me up was how many people really felt the need to plead guity with an explanation. You had three to choose from, not guilty, guilty and guilty with explanation. 95% choose guilty with explanation. I was last on the docket so i heard them all. Me and one other guy were the only ones smart enough to just plead guilty. She looked at the screen, saw how bad i was as a youth and remarked how well i had matured and had no judgements against me since 1990 and took it easy on me. In fact everybody on the docket got PBJ, even the 19yr old kid with the 5 point offense. Yet even after that, people still felt the need to volunteer information even though they were pleading guilty to much lesser violations. FWIW, most of the docket was for speeding in the 65mph zone of I-95 in Howard County, MD.

All in all, i got off lightly.

I almost got popped this morning. Light turned yellow and I got on it hard fearing the Navigater behind me would rearend me if i tried to stop. Cleared the light but saw a cop stopped at the next light in the left turn lane. He didn't go and rolled back as I approached. Not sure what he could have gotten me for. Maybe exhibition of speed? Anyaway he didnt come after me. It would have been real chicken shi- if he had.

In CA there is a special violation for "exceeding 100mph" it is a misdemeanor & counts TWO points on your driving record! Yes I am a cop...but I knew this (the hard way) before I was a cop! So never, ever admit to over 100mph...95 is fine...just never 100+

There are no points to be added to the Swedish race car driver's license - the US and Sweden don't exchange points

$115 is cheap. Try to get a class. He obviously didn't get a read on you. Too bad you spoke up.

I got popped 120 in a 55 in Portland a year and a half ago in my 996C4 (my FIRST REAL SPEEDING TICKET EVER IN MY LIFE)... it was a totally bogus ticket...I mean totally. While he was at it, he wrote me for "Careless Driving" and "Speed Racing". $1000 on the spot!

Judge threw out the speed racing and careless driving and made me pay for 90 in a 55...$650.

"Observed above named defendant travelling at an extremely high rate of speed, est over 100mph+, in a clearly marked 45mph zone"

Probably...

"The ticket was for 'careless driving'. $115.50."

Pretty cheap for 100+ in a 45 zone. Then again, your car can magically hit 103.1 mph in a quarter due to nothing more than a pair of lightweight seats, an air pump delete, a painted airbox, and an electric fan~

N!

PS: I'm smelling large ungulate more and more!
