Yeah, Paul, I think that is something to check regularly. The instructions mention adjusting for cable stretch after the first week and then checking the heights at each corner again every 6 months.

Oh, and Scott, if I weren't semi-retired (which means I make about half the money I need to do what I want), the Autolifter M6 would have been it. Fine lift that I hope I don't regret not buying. I would recommend the M6 to anyone and am gald to see you confirmed my impression of it.

FYI

I have an Eagle twin post lift. (9,000 lb capacity) To get it off the flatbed trailer and into the garage required a forklift. Once in the garage the posts could be maneuvered using a floor jack. Final erection of the posts required two neighbors, but was easily within their strength limits.

AJK:

A forklift at home and a couple of neighbors would have been a great help. Instead I had to handle this with an engine hoist, my 15 year old son and a few of under-spec'd dollies. It was about 3 hours to unload piece by piece and 10 hours to assemble and adjust with what we had. Fortunately no one was killed or injured in the process. It would have been better to have the right tools for the job, but we managed.

This morning I was comfortably sitting on a wheeled stool under the lift comfortably removing the belly pan in full comfort without the uncomfortable feeling the cold concrete on my back or my nose on the belly pan. Did I say that I was comfortable? The lift was worth every penny.

Bill great job, I sell a similar lift and have always hated Back Yard Buddies negative sales tactics. The 4 post car stacker that Direct, Complete and Eagle sell are a great value for the money and will perform well in a garage environment. And yes there are companies, which will deliver and install the lift if you don’t have 2 days to pick it up and install it yourself.
