It would be cool to see how my Kempf tool stacks up with someone else's as well as a factory tool if someone has that as well.

Regards,

Beth:

Are you doing the WP too? I remember you saying you had a load of parts. You have the rollers (big tensioner roller, small idler, lower idler assembly), bushings (plastic) for tensioner arm, tensioner rebuild kit (o-ring, boot, boot clamp). I have some spares, if, say, you cam gears are really bad. If things are oil tight upfront, we won't touch the oil pump seals or main seal, but that is an optional task often useful to do WYAIT. I have the seals, but I don't have spare crank or oil pump gears per chance they are worn. The original oil pump gear is aluminum and can wear. Even the steel crank gear can wear, but less likely

Great Nicole and Geoff! Nicole - you're always helpful and Geoff, of course we want more hands and wisecracks - Dave needs competition. The more the merrier!

Looks like the 12th is going to work (except for Richard's - bummer )

Yes, as Bill said this will be a complete TB rebuild. Including water pump. Bill, I'll post the list of parts I got from Devek because I don't even know what some of them are. Susan said she shipped me the "complete, everything you could possible need" TB rebuild kit - I just gave her a credit card #

Anyways, I can't wait! I miss driving my car!!! Thanks you guys.

Beth:

That's good. Susan does put together a complete kit. I still have parts from that kit after 2 TB/WP jobs!

Bummer it's the 12th, I'd really be interested in seeing the TB done. Maybe when mine needs replacing we can have another party over my place.

Sounds like a timing belt travelling circus is coming to your town. Keith is the rez guru of that job down here. We need to have more trained experts. Rack exchange instructor: Nicole. Belt change professors Bill & Keith. Motor mount teacher?

Somehow we'll keep these cars alive and kicking. TB/WP if I ever get home long enough. I can hardly wait!

Beth,

I'll try to get there. If I finish everything on my car this weekend and can
get my car to DEVEK for the roll cage/racing seats/etc. install then I'll have
some time. The wife and baby are in Taiwan, so I'm in control of my own
schedule...(except for the 4 other kids).

You sound like a prisoner, George... And once you car was at DEVEK, you'll even be driving behind [roll] bars...

Nicole,

It's a matter of priorities. The wife and kids are first, my wants are
second. I made the choice years ago, and it's worth it. What they
want isn't always my wants, but you know what, sometimes they just
want what I want to please me, and that's one of the greatest pleasures
of the world. No regrets...

Oh, I've been driving with the bar behind me for years, so turn about
is fair play.

George, are they using your old roll-bar as part of the new cage? And which seats are you getting? Ann got me the Recaro Speed for my B-day...just waiting on the bracket/slider to arrive so I can install it!
