So what's the turn around time on the install? Anyone in SoCal want to volunteer some expertise and garage time? I'm in an apartment and don't really have a whole lot of available space. But I can bring a bunch of tools and I'm reasonably handy...heretofore, I had just assumed I'd have Precision do the install, but I know that's going to be a few thousand...

I have to smog next fall, but suddenly I'm thinking about not waiting until afterwards to slap this thing together...

Andy, was this the kit that you had shipped partly preassembled (e.g., injectors already installed, or something like that)? I thought the manifold r/r was something like a 6hr. job, even for someone with experience...

Also, what was Tony's issue with the mounting plate?

I am going to do this, but am a bit intimidated by the process, since it's abundantly clear that the people who have gone before me had more experience and expertise and were aware of pending obstacles before they became problems, and I am very aware of my own ignorance.

San Diego? Heh. You got plenty of help in the "Can I come and watch" department Brian.

I'm up on 76 in Oceanside, but My office is in Mission Valley and my Mechanic/Friend is in POWAY.

BTW - Its not "ignorance", its "information vaccum"

Brian it is assembled in that the intercooler and manifold are pre-assembled and ready to go in. You add the injectors using the injector seals I have added to the kit (I added many parts as you know); and drop the thing into your "V" where the intake used to sit.

I helped Shane with his work, I'll advise best I can. Andy is certainly willing to help with advice; and many others like Tony have proven very helpful. You will like the kit because I have it ready to instal, I've done the parts-gathering ......

I have a two car garage in Oceanside. I'd have to get the suspension on the 89 to move it over a few feet, and move some "I'll need that *clicks "buy it now" on ebay*" Boxes.

It may work, but no promises.

Another option: My mechanic might be able to do it for you - he's a bit less hourly then Precision, and closer to you.

It can be worked out somehow.

.

It wasnt sent or wasnt even aware the was even such a piece. I found out when i hand tightened some bolts down and there was a 1/8" gap below my SC above the main mounting plate.

if you want to get a head of the game and get alot of the dirty work out of the way, id recomend reading and printing this out http://928oc.org/journal/intake1a.pdf and start removing the stock manifold and cleaning. Also, Get a fly wheel lock and start pulling belts and pulleys

Nice. I've always had the idea with you that there's not so much "business" as "I'll buy that".

BTW - any early door panels, driver's side that you don't need?

Nice. You guys work quickly. You need a secure shipping address, i.e, someone there to sign?
My wife is very adept at signing for packages.
James, my son, does not differentiate between Fedex, UPS, or USPS. They are all "PARECL MEN".
