Neither M016 nor I016 ever appeared in the PET database from 1980-1995.
FWIW, C16 appears 4013 times as a country code during that 16 year period.

Rob,
^^^^ Not sure what you are saying here - that C16 is special somehow, or that Opt 016 doesnt exist? Or are you just stating a couple of facts related to C16, 016?
My invoice actually reads "C16 England Equipment".
Why would it be different from other country codes listed above ?

JP-
Oops, dumb mistake on my part- typed too fast, thought too little.... After looking at my own options stickers, the country codes are indeed included, e.g, the C03 on my ex-GT's sticker:
I was trying to say that in the PET database there's a separate column for country codes listed for each car. In addition, for some cars there are additional option codes for equipment that were presumably destined only for a given country, like M034- version for Italy (listed on 73 cars), or M061, version for Great Britain (listed on 44 cars).
A search for M016 reveals no such cars with that code.
So the country ("C") codes are not synonymous with the "M" or "I" codes that share the same number, that's all.

OK, makes sense....except - why did they use M061 and C16, which seem to mean the same thing, to my simple mind. Unfortunately my car has no sign of an option sticker anywhere, but I do have the factory invoice, and the original owners manual, both of which list the options.

It may be worth the cost of a 1-month subscription to pull 928 build sheets - the time to pull 60k records isn't very long, but thats assuming there are no gotchas (like request-rate limiters, rotating keys, digital signatures etc.) which would prevent straightforward extraction.
If it could be done, it would make sense to pull the other FR porsche details too (924,931,944,951,968).

I could not find any mention of 282. Anybody found what that is for?
Also I saw an 89 S4 and has the following option codes that don't make sense:
563 - Air bag passenger side
571 - Rear foglight
It's a US Version.
