Anyone ever heard of XH9? My guess is that it's my leathered crested steering wheel horn. Both facts and speculations are welcome

Hi Anders:

I can't find XH9 in any of my Exclusive brochures or price lists. In fact, I can't find any code with an "H".

The closest I can get is XN9, which is leather covered sun visors. with lit make-up mirror on the right side.

Hi Anders, sounds reasonable.

XH6 is "Leather Horn Button" (a $254 option). XH9 may indeed be something like "Porsche Crested Horn Button", although I can't find it in any of the lists I have.

Hilton: What year is your list from? Is it a price list, a web page, or a brochure?

Thanks

I've also heard about XH6. It appears if one googles for option codes and seems to be for 911s. Might be a folklore but since I ain't got the standard steering wheel and XH9 is the only option I haven't deciphered this will have to do for now. Hopefully this thread shows up in a search if there's anybody else out there who I can compare my wheel with.

Its from a web page

http://www.928registry.org/928-Option-codes.htm

The only paper options lists I have are form MY90 and don't cover exclusive options.

I actually have several web pages - keep meaning to combine them into a database, but busy at the moment with other side projects

Also Anders, whilst some option codes are model specific, the ones from 1970-1997 I believe are relatively standard, i.e. no duplication of code/meaning. Thus ones like Nicole's XN9 also appear on sites for other Porsches.

I could be wrong - Nicole is more of an expert than I

Here's more good options codes pages:

Does anyone have their actual window sticker?

I'm thinking of recreating mine, if I can get enough of the info. I have my options codes and I've ordered the Cert. of Authenticity (although I have my doubts about that -- on the first pass, they think I have a "1991 GTS Coupe"....).

I have found an interesting 1991 GT with curious option codes.

XC7 Gear shift **** with colored Porsche crest
XG6 Steering 4 spoke covered with leatherd - Leather color choice
XH9 ?
XK7 Leather Wrapped Shift **** and Cover (deviating colors or to sample)
XM9 Leather Turn Signal/Wiper Switch
XR8 ?

If you have such codes on your car, could you, please, picture the corresponding item?
Regarding XR8, this is the only 928 with this code.

XC7, 9 928s with this code.
XG6, 2 928s with this code, a 1990 S4 and this one.
XH9, 13 928s with this code.
XK7, 49 928s with this code.
XM9, 36 928s with this code.

Thank you in advance.

Have a good New year's eve!

Samuel

XH9 4 spoke steering wheel, Porsche crest enamelled (only together with option M564 No airbag, meaning old style 4 spoke wheel)
XR8 Storage box for cassettes on passenger side storage shelf, not available with Blaupunkt Berlin IQR88 radio (this has tuner behind protective plate in same space), 1445,- DEM in '91 MY including German 14% VAT.
XG9 is same as XR8 except its storage for CD's and cost was 1885,-

639 is '89 GT. I'll check others later. Will likely have many of them in few Exclusive option lists I have.
