The info I have says 639 stands for "928 GT" No idea what 046 stands for.

Why don't you guys continue to post unresolved numbers here. In May, when my friend is finished building his house and might have a little more time, I will ask him for those numbers we did not clarify in the first round.

Nicole, Plz check code J25 on a 1981. It was delivered with light weight wheels, front and rear spoilers, and sport steering wheel and seats; all indicators of the factory "competition package".The local Porsche dealer ran the VIN and confirms code J25, but can't cross reference to clear text. G2857-30 = G28/57 gearbox meaning manual GTS, not sure what 30 means (my sticker only has G2857-)

I have been trying to figure out what the J26 option package is for my 1981 928. If you can have your friend look this one up, I would be very appreciative. Thanks!
EDIT: FWIW - the J26 option group cost $3,685. So I don't think it is an extra light bulb. lol.
