This way each can have a specific "theme". With "one", you want to do everything and sometimes the mods are contradictory, with two or more, the one for commuting won't have the full suspension mods and the wife enjoys driving it, but the one for weekend mountain roads does have all the mods, but it is too rough and loud with the Avenger exhaust for a long commute with my wife.. Also after you spend enough of your blood on bringing one of these up to par, its hard to give it up, the monies generated by selling it may not be worth selling it considering the time, blood and the monies invested. Ed, member of 928 anonymous! Speaking of which, I need to sell the 944 to make room for another 928.....

I never thought I would have even one 928. I have two for now. The only reason I have two is that my second was too good of a deal to let go. I have not found a buyer for the 81' yet. I may have a 951 owner who is wanting to get a 928. If we strike a deal I'll be down to one.

Its pretty simple. There are lots of logical reasons (lust) to buy another one, but low market value means there is not great motivation to sell one. So, in time we all expand our quiver to fit available storage and parking.

It might be the right 2nd 928 for you. If the first is perfect and the third is for racing, this would be the driver

Sheesh. And you guys turn up your nose at polygamy! Make up your mind!

Actually I practice sharkomonogamy. But it's serial sharkomonogamy.

The more you have the less wear you put on each one - the longer they all will be nice and lasting.

I wish I wasn't so poor that I can only afford one. I'd love to have an 84 US model, or an 84-86 Euro in blue with blue interior. Or a 78 with pasha cloth interior. Or a fully optioned GTS. Or all of them together. But I'd need a bigger house with a bigger garage which would cost more mortgage and tax, and the insurance on all of that...

Nah, it's not too bad to only have one. Having less can also mean having less to worry about. Life could be worse than owning just one shark. Think about all those poor people who have - god forbid - none.

I have two. One is to drive, the other makes everyone drool.

I used to have three, the third being an 86.5 5 SPD with LSD. I wish I had never sold that car, but at the time my wife was encouraging me to buy a prettier car with less miles, and I was thinking that three was two many. I actually cried when they loaded it on the transporter.

I still miss that car, It was like love at first sight. Most multiple owners know well the feelings of buyer's regret and seller's remourse. I may have to get another 85 - 86 someday, but I am imposing a two 928 limit on myself, track flog and driver queen, so it would have to be as nice as the 89 it would replace. But sometimes, when I look at a car, and my hands start to shake and sweat, my brain just gets overwhelmed with emotion and I act rashly. I was saved from a beautiful red model just before Christmas only because the owner refused to let me come and see it in person.

I think my wife finds this preferable to chasing women, but the emotions are similar. I still miss the 86 though. Maybe it was the LSD.

At this stage of addiction, my SO would actually prefer that I chase women. With three fair weather toys ( 2 in sig + 5-series BMW), one should be satisfied - but the hunt MUST go on ....

His and hers? There would be an excuse for me to own two. Once I have those I'll try and come up with an excuse for the 3rd.

I've often thought that if I had the money I'd like a 928 collection with at least one car of each type. How you define the differences could lead to a larger or smaller collection. Even one from each year might not be enough - for '89-'91 you might need an S4 and a GT. And how about both an '86 and an '86.5?

So far my collection consists of exactly one car - but it's a keeper!

Having multiple sharks is a good way to safe the species

I'm more the variety guy, but my favorite for my daily commute to work is the GTS. Actually I would have never bought my 944 if I would have had my GTS before. The 928 is just the better car.

I have a fleet of vehicles......12 in all.....though only one is a 928. It is the queen of the fleet though, I spoil it rotten.....money has been no object as regards giving that car anything and everything it ever needed or for any form of upgrade modification.....It is an addiction as some have pointed out here....I suppose if I had a Hemi Cuda or a 66 Fire bird 400 HO I would do the same thing....I just really enjoy things automotive, and in my experience my shark is the most magnificently engineered automobile I have ever encountered. I stand in awe of its looks, performance, reliability, ergonomics and raw curb appeal......My infatuation with the 928 has been going on for 20 years, 14 of which I have had the extreme pleasure of owning a beautiful example of a 1989 928 GT......I suspect I will have this car for a long time.....It will probably get a mention in my eulogy.

sick, huh......yeah, but it cost a lot less than chasing strange women...believe me I know that for a fact.
