I have a brochure from 1978 where it says the 15" wheels are standard of the automatic equipped cars and 16" wheels came standard on 5-speed cars. If I get a chance, I'll scan it today and post pics
Open the gas door flap. The tire sizes are listed on it. My '79 still has it and lists sizes for 15" and 16" wheels

Chuck . . . It's a beauty and that's an understatement. Holy Moley pretty much covers it.

Chuck,

Congrats. I hope you choose to drive it often.

Is it the official replacement for the red one?

Chuck, I really think you need a "beater" that you can drive. Like a nice '89 GT... Then you can drive to meets, and have someone use a transporter to bring the "bookends".

Driving is the best part. Don't miss it.

Chuck, I'm with Carl on that one. You have 2 beautiful and rare 928's that definitely don't need to be driven much. Now you need an "average" 928 that you can actually drive the sh*t out of, and not worry about it getting dirty, or rock chipped. You have the wonderful cars to look at and drool over, now get one for some serious driving fun!!!!!!!!

BTW, the '78 is to die for. That is one beautiful time capsule. Congratulations on finding/buying that one my friend. Say hello to Tina for us.

Very groovy chuck! Its condition far outweights the funny color scheme. She's a beauty.

Congrats...

I don't guess you'll ever get to find out if the kickdown switch still works...

(though I'm sure it still does )

Goodonya,

Phill.

Thanks all for the nice/funny comments! I have already begun to clean the inner fenders (BIG surprise there right ) and have removed the battery box to tend to some very minor damage caused by battery acid. Nothing serious, just want the car to be 100%. I am going to post a chronology of events with pics on my web site of everything I have to do to this car to bring it up to an "as new" example and to preserve this piece of history.

In the meantime, here are a couple pics I found on the net as a result of an offline email from a fellow NH area Rennlister. Evidently, the PO took the car to an event in Merrimack, NH called Northeast Exotic Car Show on June 19, 2004. If anyone has any pictures or info regarding this car, I would greatly appreciate if you might send it to me in an effort to fully document this car.

MUCH more to follow.........

Just curious. Where was the rear wiper switch placed in '78?
