Let's see
Started as a Forest firefighter/smokejumper in Idaho.
Went from saving trees to killing them when I switched to being a logger.
Got tired of that hazardous lifestyle and went to college with an Archtectural Major.
Picked the wrong college as U of I has an Arts and Architecture Program so I had to take a bunch of damn sissy art classes and failed (I'm completely colored blind).
Took up History as a major, and passed Party 101 with flying colors.
Parents got tired of footing the bills I created and shipped me off to Alaska to become a Fish Processor.
A year later I was hired on at their Power Plant.
Worked my way from there to being the Supervisor of this place and here I am. Company pay is nice along with the added bennies of free room and board and two one month (PAID) vacations a year. I am 34 and will be retiring by the time I reach 40.
Update: Retired at 39, so not a bad guess. However now I have to find something else to do...

Certified Public Accountant, going on 23 years. Porsche Cayenne Turbo's make a great tax deduction. My 928 GTS is my first Pcar. Would have liked a great 914/6, but couldn't pass up the one I bought last summer.

OK, my turn. Hope you don't get bored.
I work for a general contractor. I'm an estimator/project manager/project engineer/superintendent. Our company does only industrial work; refineries, chemical plants, manufacturing, power plants, sanitary (ick), and the like. As my background is in construction, and I've held all these positions (and more) at some point, I'm probably the most flexible person at the co. And the biggest advandage is they don't care that I'm a woman. That may sound silly, but you can't imagine the problems I've had.
Actually started going to school for engineering, then switched to film - wanted to get into special effects (hi B.E.), then because of situations had to quit college and start working. I think becuase of my technical skills construction came as a piece of cake. Ok, and as a side, did take modeling and did a couple runway shows and photo shoots, but I was too short. Oh ya, worked right out of highschool running an offset printing press for 3 years and as a mechanic at a porsche garage for 4 years. Have bartended also at a nightclub - that was a blast.
Ok, that's enough

I work for a French oilfield company named Schlumberger. I work in the Gulf of Mexico. I send explosive miles down into the earth and detonate them. I'm a modern day Jed Clampet. "Up through the ground comes a bubbling crued". Think of me next time you put that $2.00 a gallon high octane in your shark.

Hay that remindes me. I forgot the side job things.
Side job, mainly land based oil feild Plug & Abandon work. Basicly, when there is no more oil in an oil well, the folks I work for send us out to plug the well up, so it can't cause problems. Boreing, hot, and long hours, but kinda fun. Get to work with dynomite, welding, high powered tools, tongs, lay down machines, trucks, etc. They've got a specailty set of caseing jacks for stuck pipe too.
Oh, and Pizza, my car only runs on low octane. She doesn't like the high octane stuff...

Hey Bill, I thought I was the cable guy. After all, my name IS Jim. Work for Charter Communications as a Construction Coordinator. I am responsible for new construction of the cable system in new subdivisions. That covers every thing from initial site planning, to design of the plant to the actual construction of the system and fiber splicing. Have been at it for eleven years. I'll probably be a lifer.
