Here is the descprition:

THIS IS A 1982 PORSCHE 928 WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THIS CAR RUNS AND DRIVES .IT ALSO LOOKS LIKE IT HAS A RECENT REBUILT TRANSMISSION IN IT. IT PASSED A NEW YORK SAFTEY AND EMISSIONS INSPECTION IN AUGUST OF LAST YEAR.THE CAR HIT A STREET SIGN ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WHICH DAMAGED THE FENDER AND DOOR .THE DRIVERS FRONT FENDER IS ALSO DAMAGED.IT ALSO BINDS AT THE DRIVERS DOOR. : SEE PHOTOS:

ONLY as a parts car. If u are worried about "getting the money" for $1500 - you are gonna be bankrupt if you are planning to rehab her!

Might be good for parts...can't really say. But 1500 is cheap if it's got stuff you need on it. On the other hand, 1500 can buy a lot of car if your willing to put up the reest of the $$$ it's gonna take to fix all the problems that lie beneath.

You could definitely make some $ parting it at that price. If you want to resurrect it, that's a long, expensive road. 928 international wants more for a fender than the asking price of that car, and twice as much for a door! You'll need a cheap parts source to make it worthwhile.

I once bought a "parts car" for a transmision, an engine case, and all the miscellaneous nuts, bolts and other small parts. Then I had a real problem:
how to dispose of the shell. I cut it in half and then had 2 halves taking up space in the garage. I also had lots of little parts I rationalized I would need "later" stuck in every corner of the garage. I had transformed a slight need and the perceived savings of the desired parts into a major headache and time consumer. The salvage yards do that for a living and do it better than I could do it. From now on I will probably let them make a living doing it and pay them for the part I need. Less costly in the end and I can enjoy my life. Unless you just must spend time stripping cars.....

Cool

Paint and recovering the drivers seat might be the biggest expense.
Fenders are going for about $500.00 each -used- and the doors go for about $350. - $400. plus shipping from 928 INTL.
You will need some trim peices and a mirror for the pass. door, and possibly some body work to the pass. side rear quarter panel.
Obviously the more work YOU CAN DO the less it will cost you.
The fenders will come off and go on easily, getting the 'nose' front bumper cover off and on can be a bitch due to location of 1-2 nuts on either side. doors are an easy swap. Need two people for proper alignment with fenders and door frame/sill. Post for guidance.
You will also have to -more than likely- swap out windows, window motors,
window regulators, seals etc... .
Right off hand, that was one hell of a sign pole he hit!
Furthermore, if the hit on the drivers side is not related to the hit on the Pass. side you might be ok.
A quick check for frame, fender bulkhead bends would be to pop the hood
-if you can-look for :
1. A twisted hood.
2. Any shift of radiator mounts, fan shroud cracking or movement -usually lowerhalf of shroud will be cracked , missing or when the fan blades are spun they will hit the shroud.
3. You can lay down and look at the area forward of the stabilizer bar mounts on either side of the engine. There are formed longitudinal pieces -run front to rear- that taper to a 'nose' at the bottom front of engine. You will be looking for distortion, bending, or seperation of metal.
4. Look around the fender brace connection/bolt points for twisting/movement.
5. While you are at it check suspension peices, ball joints, A arms for looseness/bending/breakage.
If you have the skill and time you can handle anything but a bent frame/bulkhead.
Nothing personal...but... if you are going to have a problem getting loot to buy a $1500.00 sHARk and you need another -bare minimum- $1500 just for the necessary door and 2 fenders...then you might want to save for another sHARk on another day. PAINT and Leather work ain't cheap!

If the dash and pod are clean, they will bring $1500 themselves.

P.S.
FWIW
The interior is a ringer for for the Weissach models. Check the paint code at the drivers door jamb...you never know.
If all else fails you can part for a tidy profit if you carefully disassemble, bundle parts, watch shipping costs, and don't get outrageous on price.

Hey guys, thanks for the help..I sent him an email a lil while back and this was it

"No frame damage to my knowledge. And no I am not entertaining offers. A running driving porsche is worth $1500 bucks for parts alone. You can come and drive it home.
Thanks
Dirk

To view the item, go to: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/ebayISAPI.dll...tem=7907747757

Thank you,

I responded with:

"Alright---Does everything electrical work? Did the dent on the driver side fender come from the same accident that messed up the passenger side? I already sourced the doors and fenders for the 928 ($1,350 =() Are there any other problems with the car? When was the last time the t-belt was done? Clean title?

thanks
mike"

There's an 86 in SFO on the Craig List for $1800 for sale by a fellow named Al B. - car has a lot of little problems and a poor interior but it does have the 32-valve engine and a recently rebuilt automatic tranny and lots of new parts.
