yes, racing does things to components you cant even imagine sometimes..... the temps are off the charts. i had brake temps in the 1500 degrees , and was the reason i upgraded to the 2 piece rotors and the PFC11 pads

lets see how Dan runs at the POC race later this summer. i bet he gets in the 1:28s, so your right , i think he was not pushing. the other cars are spec TA2 (transam 2) and are pretty heavy and only have 450ish HP, while the bmws handle great and are pretty light, but only 380-400rwhp. (running in the 1:34s which is still pretty fast . my best was 1:36.1 back 10 years ago, but if i wasnt chasing my tail with the brake pad push back issue and the distraction of that howling, i think i could have gotten close to 1:36. the track was nice . but not a huge difference vs before. One of the local top porsche series drivers said that the track was about the same , because it doesnt have any rubber on it yet.. also, interesting how clean the tires are after the race, no pickup at all. NONE. wierd.

yep, they are glowing at the bottom of turn 2 at laguna and at turn 11 entrance. if i can fix that vibration and the pad push back, i can start doing that super late braking again and knock off a second or more.

Whoa, at about the 3:05 mark, it looks like the guy in the Mustang is giving you the finger for passing him Otherwise love the videos and all of your "kills". Especially love the corkscrew - never get tired of that. We have a mini version of it here at Pitt Race, and it's a blast to drive.

Well, the howling vibration and noise is gone.... replaced the inner and outer bearings with bearings sent to me by 928 INTL . (thanks Mark) relief to get that problem out of the way, and hoping it helps with the pad knock back issues. probably should change the other side tomorrow... ill see if i have time.
Race coming up this week at Thunderhill, and its kind of a World Challenge re-union.

Mark I remember your intake thread...

Have you considered installing ITB's? You would easily get 500+ rwhp with that Green Bay engine and still be reliable.

Also, the power will be higher-up the RPM range so it's easier on the drivetrain vs a stroker with the stock intake which produces all that not-so-usable low-end torque on the track.

Yes, that was my goal for all the reasons that you motioned. Ill founded exuberance got me buying a welding kit, an a bunch of 944 intakes and even a Vantage V8 intake to modify.... then i realized. "i cant do this... no way".... so tossed it all in the trash. i have a welding kit for sale if you know anyone that needs one.

Todd popped in and I showed him this thread (he doesn't really log onto Rennlist anymore). He's gets so excited with these race updates it's like watching a proud father see his child graduate from college or something.

I think you should look into having your car transported here for the big vintage race in July. It's quite an event.
