The last challenge I have been facing on my 79, after my top-end refresh, has been dialing in the CIS. After getting all the pressures set, diagnosing a hard warm start, etc., I was left with a hard cold start condition. I researched everything I could find but nothing added up. When I started the car, it would slowly struggle up to around 1,000 RPMs. Once warmed up, it would run great and restart well.
Long story short, the plug to the thermo time switch was not connecting/connecting well. I noticed when checking the plugs, I did not get much resistance when plugging it in. I adjusted the female connections and reinserted . Based on the video, hopefully the problem has been remedied.
I thought Id share since I couldnt find a fix from my research. It was an easy fix but took me awhile to find. (the wiring harness is a new replacement btw)

Hi,
I have a similar issue could it be the same?
see added movie.
It does it with engine cold after 1 night sitting but also after sitting 4 hours after running.
How did you measure the resistance? Directly
at the plug to the coldstart injector?

Im not seeing the same issue. Yours seems fire up pretty well. I thought I had solved the issue but I tried to fire it today with no luck. It would barely start and struggle up to 1000RPMs. Once warm, it was fine. It has something to do with CSI and/or thermo time switch. Could it also be a bad starter relay?.? Im at a loss.
But you can hear that I have difficulty starting my engine the first time, it doesn't catch directly.
I will try to have 12V on my coldstart injector (currently I only have 9V but it sprays though, but perhaps not enough)

let me know how that works out for you. Im curious I may have a bad starter relay??

You can always try to replace the start relay. It is not that expensive, around $60
But normally when start relay is bad, you will not hear the pump prime for 2 seconds after putting ignition on.
Can you hear pump prime before starting ?
