Hmmm... that thing looks beat. Ansa muffler... yuck. Why is the engine cocked at that weird angle? What happened to the front bumper on the driver side? Looks like the headlight is messed up on that side.

I've read that they are non-interference, but very close w/the high lift cams. So it would be possible for interference if substantial carbon buildup is present. FWIW

It's pretty dirty and nasty.

Good for engine parts.
Intake, cams, heads, etc...

But the rest is pretty nasty.
Not even the cool headlights...

The engine is at a wrid angle because our freind can't hold the camara straight.

Compare the engine intake to the cross brace.

the engine SHOULD NOT have bent valves ......... I wonder how the A/C "works" when the engine does not run ?? perhaps they mean it "did work " ; might still work ...? This one is probably a parts car ....

I'm very interested in this topic... So according to Jim the M28.11/12 type engines are non-interference engines. I'm feeling a little more excited about my next DE.

Maybe... it's hard to tell, because the runners are not symmetrical. But it sure looks to me like one TB cover sits higher than the other(relative to the cross brace). The oil filler looks low too. Trying real hard to think positive here, I suspect engine mounts. With the front end damage, who knows.

Could a collapsed motor mount on one side make it lean like that? Did they even have that kind of motor mount?

it could be a non S type, 4.5 liter too. (without the good euro intake )

looks pretty beat. its only good for the fenders, doors, hood and intake
(heads if it is truely a euro S 4.7 1982 model)
