According to the rider he was full-throttle as soon as his bike straightened out on the onramp.

What we are doing is placing video in front of those who want to look. This video shows precisely what I experienced that first day, as I stated it.
Bottom line to me, is that this is a cool piece of Porsche 928 enthusiast multimedia.

The video says 928S4, that sure is impressive. But I find it a bit wierd that the 929 isn't faster... What speeds did you flat out at nad was the 928 auto or manual?

No way that bike was at full throttle.......It would have gone by the white car like it was standing still..................

I disagree, there could be something wrong with the bike

Took one of the editors of excellence magazine out for a spin up in the mountains, had a pack of bikes behind coming up to some slow traffic. pulled out, ran it to 75 in 2nd, 115 in 3rd and wend deep into the next hard left. (the editor was egging me on). looked back, and they were fading back every turn. got to skyline (summit) and the pack of racer bikes were throwing all thumbs up.
point is, most ALL street bikes have no chance against a race prepared 928 in the hills. straight line? of course, they will kill us!
want proof about the curves?, just look at the superbike races at Laguna. these are pro races, and the 928 can run 140 flat, that would have been in the back 10 bikes in the race. (keep in mind, any guy on any street wouldnt have a chance of last place in this race, even on race rubber!!)
perspective!
Anyway, both the editor and i had an ear to ear smile after that little burst of adrenaline. I dont usually speed to much on city streets, but everyone has their weaknesses! This was pretty straight and there wasnt any cars after the pass for about a mile to the skyline intercection where we stopped. exchanged thumbs up, and proceeded to go our different ways, while we did a big brodie turning the opposite direction to say goodby to the rest stop. yes, felt like i was 16.

I would be curious to see the best times at Isle of Man from both bike and car. This was the craziest, fastest stuff I've seen. It had my heart pumping. That would be the ultimate comparison to me.

Do they race cars at the isle of man, I thought it was bikes only on those races?
The shots I've seen from thos races are some very tight curvy roads where a bike can ride in a lot straighter lines than cars. The bikes also can safely land on one wheel only and still have some stability where a car needs a lot more room to land..
It's simple to compare track times, bikes are almost always slower on race tracks since they can't keep the curve speeds that cars can but they are usually faster on some straights.
An Superbike that is road legal does 0-60 mph in around 2,5 seconds - no way a N/A 928 car can keep even with it even to 120 mph.
