Default Fuel Tank Needed for 81

Anyone have a good fuel tank (and optional cradle) available for sale at a reasonable price from a part out car.

The JB Weld patch one of the POs of my car did on my tank has started separating and leaking at Frenzy.

Hoping to make it the 500 miles home tomorrow before total failure but am.going to have to fix this immediately.

Shoot me pics and pricing info to my email of petza914@gmail.com.

Thanks.

I stock brand new tanks.
I've got perfect used tanks. ($1000.)
I've got otherwise perfect used tanks except for spun fuel pump inserts, which there is a repair for. ($500.) (Which my garage owners insurance would have a hissy, if I used one.)

BTW...almost all cracked tanks are a result of the black purge valve going bad and engine vacuum "sucking" the tank in. Sometimes the valve just fails (always open.) Sometimes, when the charcoal canister "looses" its' normally captive tiny charcoal pellets, they migrate to that valve and jam it open. (BTW-BTW: The infamous "plastic tee", when broken, prevents the tank from being sucked in, since it does not allow the engine vacuum to reach the tank. An amazing amount of tank failures occur right after this "tee" is replaced!)

...People not aware/not informed usually buy a couple tanks, before they figure this all out!

Great info Greg and Drew. Drew, my car is an 81 Euro so K-Jet. That diagram and verbiage seems to apply to an LJet setup with reference to certain components, or is the K-Jet setup similar?

Thanks Kevin. This might be just the ticket since I have to come to Alpharetta on Wednesday anyway - saves the shipping hassles. Is the repaired boss done using Hans' insert or another method. Have a solid cradle with it for that price in case mine isn't once I get it down?

Got a few others I'm looking at as well, but don't have prices on all of them yet.

Thanks a lot.

Marine JB weld. I should have a match cradle, too.
