Your standards are very old fashioned.
You really need to be "woke" up.

The new standards:
"That was yesterday, this is today".

I hate that kind of crap! Your word is good....end of story.
My 2 cents, but I am old, and have scruples.

That's a bit of a d*ck move on the seller to you, but like Gregg mentioned, it's unfortunate reality. This might just be a "Blessing in Disguise" for you and you just might get a better opportunity in the future.

Yes, we of the "older" generation have a completely different set of "rules", which we go through life with.

There are some exceptions to the "new" rules and morals.
My son, Kyle (who is learning how to be a 928 "guru" and how to run the business) is an amazing child. He will not, has never told a lie....not even a white lie. He doesn't exaggerate....won't do it.
Unless he forgets, his word is absolutely gold.
Completely different set of morals than anyone I've ever been around.

I'm a proud parent.
Mom did a great job!

Default Let me climb up on this Soap Box...

That su*ks and it's happened to me. But it's really nothing new - greed and dishonorable behavior have been around forever.

The "old rules" just seem "old" because they are tried and true and have *persisted* through the ages. They work, and so they persist. (but bad things that work also persist...)

Every generation thinks they have some great new ideas and a better way. Maybe. But time plays Darwin and many of those great new ideas are re-hashes from previous young generation efforts that also failed to cut the mustard of reality.

One difference today is that the latest young generations live in virtual proximity to each other and carry virtual megaphones (cell phones and the internet). Can you imagine (for us older generations) if all the garbage we heard and believed when we were young could have been shared with our other equally naive peers, and posted for all to see?!

My hope is that any true social innovations from the younger generations will persist and stand out. Humanity does make SOME progress, after all. However, I would recommend they pose and post those worthy contributions via the tried and true channels, rather than those very noisy platforms that are popular.

But, what would "a Boomer" know anyway....

HI Jeff - I don't have a dog in this fight, but looks like you were beat by a PM. His initial post said to PM him. So, you post a question, he answers, a third party sees his answer and quickly PMs him before you post. I know... it's a **** show, but that's possibly how it went down. Had you followed his post and PM'd him, this might have gone in your favor. Try and see it from his frame--he may be thinking "RTFM".

And this ends today's episode of the People's Court. Be sure to tune in next week for more of my unsolicited commentary.

Take care

I can see your point..and that on review there were those two words, at the end of the list of photos...I read the text at the top..

But did mention direct intent, twice...and asked for instructions in PM, I didnt expect paypal addr in open text.

Agree. I put some truck wheels up for sale on FM last night and the first guy who contacted me is coming this afternoon. Others have reached dout to get them this morning, but I told them I'd let them know if the first guy doesn't show up or they don't work for his fitment. It's just the right way to conduct these types of transactions.

About 50 years ago when I was in the class on Contract Law in Law School one of the first things we learned was that a contract is created when there is an offer and an acceptance. The the next thing we learned was how that would apply to something like a listing of something for sale, but then we were talking about something like a classified ad in the news paper; we didn't have the internet then, but I think the rule we learned still applies. Our first conclusion was that the classified ad would be the offer and the acceptance of the offer would create a contract, much like what we like to think about a listing here on this internet forum. However we then learned that such a listing of something for sale is not an offer but rather a solicitation of an offer. When one then might say "I'll take it" there is not yet a contract, because "I'll take it" is the offer and still subject to the seller accepting it. If the seller chooses for any reason not to sell it to a particular person or not to sell it at all, there is no contract to enforce.

What you and I like to think is the "right way" here is based simply on the moral thing to do and not the legal thing to do. In nearly 50 years of law practice, and including a few hundred cases I have mediated for the Small Claims Court in the last several years, I have never had or seen a case involving this kind of alleged contract, but I think the law is still the same.

I’m 42, sell tech, and consider myself part Gen X, part Millennial. And I’m 100% in agreement with you.
