Regarding the floor, not sure if I would go with Race deck tiles for a garage big like yours. At least not for the entire surface.
Polyaspartic floor would be awesome. Or a mix of both...
Of course, it's your garage, do what ever please you the most!
Keep up the good work!

I'd probably go with polished concrete for now.
Later on as you section it off and get the place set up, you can use various types.
You might even want to carpet some areas.

This stuff looks interesting

If you go polyaspartic I would avoided adding surface flake to any areas you plan to use as working spaces. Small fasteners and such quickly disappear when dropped.

Default Acid stain

Since your putting in heated flooring system and super tons of insulation with the heated floors in a beautiful acid etch stain you may get away with leaving thd heater on the low settings. The panels might kill out the heating benefits from your in flooring heat source.

Ed, I've paid my dues shingling roofs. Most recently on our cottage because the roofer was so bloody slow. I had to shame him into working faster and doing a better job! Sheesh!

I need to get over there and get some photos as I was out golfing today. Gorgeous day!!!

Got the Bituthene Ice and Water Shield on!

Metal roof will be finished this week... Yes!
It will be dry in there for pouring the heated 6" thick concrete floor.

Good call on the watershield on the whole roof. No ice dams can slow that roof down!

Yesterday was amazing as the roofing team managed to put the entire metal roof on in one day! That's about 10,000 ft of roof! Plus, it was fairly windy and they only lost one sheet (they had two spares), and no one got hurt!

You have to admire people that know what they are doing!

This is how much was finished on both sides at lunch:

And they were this far by 3:45

I'm impressed too !! I look with fond memories at what your contractors are able to do, without all the over the top requirements we have here in Australia. Decades ago I had employees and sub contractors all working safely and without incident/accident at similar heights and much higher, using the same equipment and procedures as you. To do work at heights in Australia now routinely requires the whole building to be surrounded by full height scaffold, and for a re-roof alone it has to be either full height scaffold, or a full perimeter handrail and harnesses tethered to pre-installed attachment points. The greatest danger here is tripping over all the 'safety' equipment.

Your contractors are doing a brilliant job, and the speed of work is really impressive.

Isn't it stupid?

In the factory where I work in West Oz, the safety ***** forced us to install a handrail around the roof of a portable office unit to stop people falling 3 metres to the factory floor.
.
The roof was NOT accessible UNLESS you broke the padlock on the maintenance ladder to the overhead crane, climbed up and over the 415 volt exposed electrics, tiptoed 10 metres along the electrified gantry rail, and jumped down 6 metres onto the building.

Back on topic, this garage is AWESOME. I am so envious.

All true, but roofing has one of the worst safety records of any profession. Much more dangerous than being a cop or being in the army etc. This according to my roofer anyway, who says he pays as much in insurance as he does in payroll.

The foam insulation is down for under the concrete. It amazes me that you put 6" of reenforced concrete on top of 2" of styrofoam and it remains structurally sound and supports lifts and stacks of cars...

Lots of jokes going on that I'll be able to heat the place with a candle, it's that well insulated...

Getting close to pouring the floor!

Drains, plumbing and preparations for electrical are going in...

Footings and uprights for patio are in...

Amazing to put a 4' x 6' x14 inch thick footing for a couple of 6x6 posts! Frigging overkill plus!

Its dirty work, but worth it in the end...
