Bad news ... the transmission is in the place but the problem is still there ...

All is very good or new inside the tranny, excepted the torque convertor.

Boy that’s a lot of work to find this out
Did you remove the TT to inspect the driveshaft and make sure it’s not broken

It was checked earlier and found to be OK.
Talked to my tranny specialist and in his opinion about this kindof a problem is the valve body. Do you have access to a known good tranny for a test swap?

TT is ok.

We have checked valve body. All springs and ***** are ok.

In New Caledonia, there are only two 928. A MY82 and my MY95.

What about TC ?

Even if the one way clutch of the stator inside the TQ fails, the car would still drive.
IMHO I would get a known working valve body from GB or similar and drop it in
I wouldn't like to take everything out again...

What do you mean by « TQ » ?

On ground the car doesn’t move.
On lift the wheels spin to forward in all positions R D N 2 1. We can stop them with hand.

Sorry I meant "TC" for torque converter (typo).

The car is not moving on the ground and you can also hold the wheels on the lift by hand with higher RPMs?

Right

We have exactly the same symptoms than at the beginning of this thread 😢

Regretfully, I kinda figured this would be the outcome.
None of the deteriorated pieces you found would disable both forward and reverse gears.

However, don't give up. These transmissions require a steep learning curve (at least for me, they did.)

I once had one of these things in, out, and apart six times....looking for a very strange noise.
Five continuous weeks of work....50-60 hours a week!
By the time I was done, I had replaced every single part inside the transmission and the differential (some more than once)....the only original part that remained was the transmission case.
The problem turned out to be a problem in the "rebuilt" torque tube. (That I had not rebuilt, but had someone else do this.)

The only benefit was that, in the end, I could take one of these transmissions apart and put it back together, in the dark!
.....Oh yeah. I also learned to not trust anyone to do anything correctly and to do every possible thing you can do, in house.

Education has a price.

I've never seen a failed factory converter, although I'm guessing it must be possible.

I have seen early model "rebuilt" converters fail, but they all have made terrible noises.

Valve bodies are complex and challenging to take apart and reassemble correctly. However, your problem existed before you took yours apart and since you found nothing wrong/broken, I doubt this was the original issue. And I have no reason to think you did not do this task correctly.

Very strange.....still.

How about a failure in the differential? Did you take the PSD unit apart and check it?

We never took apart the PSD. We can try by removing the piston on the right side of the differential ? Isn’t it ?

Did seem likely given you just seemed to find normal wear inside the tranny, if the car is on the ground with the tranny in Park but the handbrake off can you push the car?
