If the video doesn't start at 15:30 go there first
As those of you who saw the German Grand Prix will know, the weather on Sunday was perfect, as it was on Tuesday
Inevitably the weather on Monday for the track day was entirely different, the track was waterlogged from sighting laps until it was red flagged at about 10am
When the track reopened roughly midday, the first part of the track had dried out significantly, at least until Hohe Acte
Unfortunately the closure was to clear up an oil spill that ran from Eiskurve onwards, so the track was compromised for the rest of the day
There were also intermittent showers such that it never completely dried, for instance Bergwerk was always greasy
At the time I really didn't understand what happened when I lost it on the bridge at Breidscheid
The tyres were as warm as they were going to get on the day, as I've been on track for 15 minutes and this is the lowest point on the track
I do have the 33 bar brake bias valve fitted set such that the rear wheels get as warm as the fronts, but I think I'm off the brakes by the time rear lets go
If there had been a local oil patch surely the BMW would have also had issues
Since then I've been told I was wrong to be on the dry line, trying to hit the apex
I should have followed the line taken by the BMW which was half a car width from the apex
I don't usually drive at the Ring when it's wet, although people always encourage me to try
I did go out again later, but only when it had dried a little more

good catch .... but wet racing the Ring will always be a risk .... guess we don't want to see all the wrecks that were hauled out of the green hell...

That was not a brown trouser job- a couple of drops of pee maybe! ![hiha](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/roflmao.gif)
You did not seem to have much trouble correcting the situation I thought it was going to be something bent.
Hamilton is a tough act to follow though.

Well, that is scary when you consider how rare oversteer is on these cars. I guess at higher speeds, it happens. About how fast do you think you were going? You say you were off the brakes, but it looks like there was still some "unweighting" going on with the rear?

First, good save.
Second...well done. You can learn 10x more in the wet in a day, than 10 weekends in the dry. Good job embracing that opportunity.

Glad you made it out to the Ring in a reliable car! ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
And very glad it was mostly uneventful.
I had put the 33 bar brake bias on my 86.5 5-speed and experienced oversteer when going too hot into an off-ramp with my ABS out. Definitely a pucker moment for me! I had it changed back to stock.

Thanks, I thought I'd fixed the Cerbera, but three hours from home after driving perfectly it started misbehaving so I had to turn around, go back, and swap cars
This is only the third time I've used the 928 this year, so I am very grateful that it has been so reliable

Paul, I spun my GT in exactly the same place. And it was dry! Breidscheid is perhaps the trickiest corner at the Ring in a 928. If you are a fraction of a second late off the brakes, the nose heavy 928 is likely to oversteer... Last but not least, Marco assured me that the bill for concrete is even higher... Luckily I stopped about 10inches off the wall...
