That's very good time.
I'm curious: How Many fuel stops and How Big is the tank(s)?
Thanks for the question! When answering, I quickly realized that I miscalculated the time change when reporting the 17 hour time. It was in fact just under 19 hours (must have been the tiredness). But to answer your question, the tank is about 28 gallons. I had five stops each way, all of which were under ten minutes except one of 11 minutes because I just had to get some exercise...
Alas, life got in the way and Loueee did not make it to Rendezvous #2. It seems that building a cottage and big a-s-s garage is a full time job even with contractors. Who would have thought that the availability of laborers would disappear because of the pandemic and I would have to go "hands on" with roofing, excavating, installing underground power and lots of other aspects of building the cottage... At least all those old construction skills helped again - even though I'm getting a little ahem, older...
So it finally arrived today. The Loueee license plate made it onto the car..
Hopefully I'll get more 928 playtime in before summer ends...
Snow White, the U-boat and the Outlaw have not even burned a full tank of gas yet this summer... Loueee? Oh Yeah, he's burned a couple of tanks!
Loueee went out for his last long drive of the season on Sunday. I actually took each car for a nice drive. Exercising all of the functions to keep them working and healthy before topping up the fuel, adding Seafoam and taking the tires up to 56 lbs for the long winter storage period.
Another summer in the books... 2020 was a weird one for sure without going to any events or having people hanging about the toy box...
Can springtime come soon enough? Today is the first day of the ski season and of course I'll be in that lift line chomping at the bit. But a part of me is already longing for the smell of race fuel and warm air...
Had Loueee out scaring the locals and vibrating their Halloween decorations off the shelves the last few days as I run all the cars through a tank of gas in preparation for their oil/coolant changes and the long winter ahead. Life has been quite the adventure since this beast arrived! Wouldn't have it any other way...
The cottage is all finished and so is the mini garage in the backyard... Turned out so good that we sold the big house during the real estate frenzy and are loving living on the beach...
Mind boggling clear water...
A few Kayaks, paddle boards, Laser sailboats, canoe and a Zodiak tender round out the fleet... I like the Kayak best in late fall.
Last leaves are ready to fall as another "Hard Winter" gets ready to set in. Soon this area will have 4-10 feet of snow and no 928 will be thundering across the landscape anywhere but in my imagination.
Such is the stuff that dreams and nightmares are made of...
Where is Eva? Looks like paradise on earth!
Btw, we have 4 " of snow the whole winter! Gulfstream is near.
And you are 53.5 degrees north! We are only 45 degrees north, but without the warm ocean and Gulfstream we are substantially colder and get a great deal of lake effect snow before the big lakes freeze for a couple of months.
