This is going to be a fun event! I'm loving driving Louie a bit. He gets lots of "Thumbs Up's" from the general public! Took him out for some back to back comparative runs with the Turbo the other day. Louie is soooo much more engaging, and dare I say demanding, but both leave me grinning like a kid in a candy shop!
This thing is such a Bad ***, reminds me of having a 50 caliber Desert Eagle pistol... BOOM!!!
Louie... THANK YOU!

Eric, (Turq) stopped by yesterday (observing social distancing rules) and we went out for a ride in Lou-eeee in gloves and masks. He took a few photos and video's, so perhaps he'll share some of the nonsense we were up to. The weather was cool and the roads wet in spots, so we could not play too hard, (especially since I haven't gotten that much seat time in Lou-eeee yet).
Today and tomorrow's forecast contains lots of rain and wind... Cayenne days...

What an afternoon of fun! Got to see Dave and his new acquisition, Lou-eeee. Such a cool car. Love the fact that, other than the roll cage, fender flares and on-board Windows PC, it pretty much looks like a really nice well kept 928. That is, until Dave fires up the engine. We went for a quick ride around Dave's northern Michigan town. Here is a video: https://youtu.be/Ij0pr0Uo554

Three Wheelin'
I made the molds with no arch on either side. I wanted to use the volume on driver side where the rear muffler had been for an engine oil cooler. There was plenty of room for ducting over the rear wheel and I made metal ducting for that. The opening was made by freehand to what looked right. It could be a little larger but since this was no1 prototype, I didn't do it and it is barely adequate. A fan helps with the oil cooling.
On the pass side there just isn't room for an opening and duct. You have the fuel tank filler over there and it is quite large. So I left it alone and besides I wanted to see what it looked like with the rear duct and also without the rear duct. There is a duct behind the right rear wheel to get air to the tranny cooler which is located in the rear bumper channel using the stock GT oil cooler.
Hope that answers your question.
Louie

When I answered Christians question earlier, I used a wrong word. I wrote "arches" when I meant opening or scoop or vent, Not arches. Sorry.

If it existed, it would be quite long because there is sooooo much that has been done. I took it out for a ride last night and was absolutely wowed once again.
Perhaps the best way to consider this car is as a "Development Mule" wherein Louie applied his considerable genius as a functional 928 engineer and product developer. Everywhere you look their are subtle details that he re-thought and improved. All of it looks like it belongs and the fit and finish is simply a marvel to thoughtfully inspect.
Drooman and I were chatting about this car a few weeks ago and he commented "If Louie had paid himself fifteen cents per hour, he'd have $300,000 in this thing". Its that well done!

I already have my room booked!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
There is a good excuse for my distraction:
My wife and I had another hair-brained idea and are building a cottage on the bay (with a garage for Louie...).. Perhaps it will be our retirement home eventually? It is taking quite a bit of time getting it all designed, decorated, synchronized and built! This project only started in October and pushed my bad *** garage aside for a while.
Eric now has a new waypoint for if he needs a safe harbor when out in the Tiara...
We have a great builder who understands the extreme weather this home will be exposed to. Sometimes I think Louie is influencing the engineers as they design and integrate the various strengths of the structure and electronics... Between the shear walls, hurricane strapping, massive bolts and steel braces, blown foam insulation and full Ice and water shield, it should be solid as a 928 and a great spot to play!
About that garage?
Hmmmmmm!
Or, a Porsches on the beach event... Unsalted of course...
After an insanely busy day I just had to take Louie out for a spin.
He has some good company - - - Some Bad Company!
Thank goodness for 16 foot doors!
