Welcome and good luck on the project.

I have a few 79 parts leftover from my Spyder build like front bumper lighting, a complete spider intake and legs, a rear black console, and some other stuff, if you need anything.

LOL , I really wasn't trying to tease. I just found it wonderful that someone took the time to sign their name where it would never be seen. A certain amount of pride must have been on the line that day, with that person. So, as to show you the sorry state of what I am resurrecting. Here is a candid shot of the old girl.

So you bought this car on FB, right?
Very rare color and worth the effort to restore it properly, as long as you have time and $$$.
Change the title of this thread highlighting the year and color and keep us updated with it's progress!

Love it-Hoi

Why do the speedometer go to 85 mph or 140 kph only? I have never seen that over here in Europe. That is way below the top speed. On all my three cars the speedometer ends at 300 kph.

US regulations during the oil embargo/gas crisis.* Many were replaced by dealers "back" to 170 mph once cars are sold.

It apparently bounced around Ebay for a while. I bought it from the guy who bought it from the guy in Texas who had it on Ebay. Not sure about the color at this point and the interior was crispy from California and Texas sun so it needs a complete redo. Right now its determining the extent of neglect. Engine is cleaning up well and I am sorting out the fuel system. The wiring harness is another matter entirely including the car was started by a push button. Most of the wiring has been hacked up over the years. Battery tray is the only rusted out area that I am finding which will need to be cut and replaced.

Talk to Sean @ 928Docs about a new engine harness. The old ones tend to get hacked up and/or crispy. Sean makes harnesses plug and play with correct wire colors and connectors. Things that didn't work before will work. Worth the money and worth it just to reduce the hassle of an old bad engine wiring harness.

I'm glad this is getting some attention! Great color, inside & out! I was going to bid on that one when it was available, but my garage is more than full.
Most definitely keep this thread going with photos & updates!
