mine came with a folding wing and squirters were in the block. I have bad photos lying around somewhere. Vin is 1134, a little younger than heinrichs or his ex's. I was trying to figure it out once and thought 1400 was as good a guess as any based on Heinrichs cars. FWIW

Mine may be older but I don't know the serial number off the top of my head. What's your VIN? I have #0142, 8/86 build date. I'll try and check the block when I get home.

Sterling I believe they do, and I believe they are susceptible even to massive oil ingestion as a result, but ALL through the crank case ventilation system.

Well yes there is that ..... there is some overlap of wing/no-wing at 1400 or so. My 5-speed 1401 had no wing and 1385 did. Maybe wingness is not a good gauge then for squirterage. We do know that there were squirters up to 1401. Or we think we know that

My '87 has squirters and oil comsumption is very low. I've got about 3500 miles on this oil change (Redline 20W 50), and it's less than a quart low. Most of that leaked out.
