**calendar Update**
alright everyone, I had a nice chat with the nice people at the printing company I found. I have good news. I can get a great price. (think cheap) They claim their wall calendars are store quality, with shiny thick magazine like paper. (calendar paper) Shipping will also be very cheap. I don't want to give out prices yet, because I want to Talk to EELLSSUU and whoever else is doing this first. (and to John D again) alright, some requirements:
We need 13 images, 12 for the calendar, and one for the cover (anyone digging that collage, if it gets approved by Porsche, for the cover?) They require photos to be 100-300 DPI, but recommend 200-300. The two best formats, according to their website, is .JPG, and .PNG, the latter being a better choice for clearer better pics. So for this calendar, when you submit your photos, make sure they are between 100-300 DPI, and are .JPG or .PNG photos!
Ah, yes. One thing they require, is an approval by Porsche. to get that approval, we need to contact PNA's marketing department, I will be doing this shortly, and don't for see any problems. This place has done calendars for car groups like us before, so obviously manufacturers give permission. Any questions?
Please don't submit photos in this thread, It's a discuss the details thread. keep posting em in those other threads, until we ask you to start emailing em to us. Thanks!
I'll have you updated when I get more info I'm waiting on from PNA, John D. etc...

Wait, 300dpi, jpg or png.... OK...but what size should the images be? Also, would recommend NOT using a Porsche Crest on the cover. I would be very surprised if Porsche gave permission and did not want a cut.
Ok, basically i propose whoever wants to submit pics should prepare their images to the requirements and then make an album in your RennGallery and we can just submit the ONE link to that gallery hosting the submissions. Posting a million images is hard to keep track of. A simple Name & Link will be much easier to work with. I also propose that the pictures be number in the gallery for submission, so it makes voting easy if people have more than one image.
EX: Vote for Blue S2 - 1 (means Blue S2 - image number 1 )
Blue S2 - 3
ELLSSUU - 5
EYAL 951 - 2
So its quick to see what images have how many votes. Then it will be easy to gather up those images. I recommend making sure the images are number in the captions section too. Does this format work ok for everyone? Unless their is better form of organization? Opinions?
:: quick clarification:: I mean each person makes a submission album in their OWN galleries, not in one persons album.

Sounds good so far...
I would stay away from any collages or images with logos or text. Raw photos, taken by YOU, hold your copywrite, so there should not be any question of ownership. For the printer, I can see why they need PCA's approval, and I think if you present it to PCA as it is, a calander for Porsche owners, made by Porsche owners, they'll probably OK it.
For the front cover, may I suggest the White Rennlist Logo?

yes, that was dumb of me to think the collage would pass, hopefully we can get PNA's approval, we'll see. otherwise, all systems go! BTW, what kind of price are you guys all expecting, i want to know if im going to meet that, lowball it and surprise you guys, or highball your expectations (which shouldnt happen unless your thinking unrealistically)

Price wise: $20? Scratch that, just looked at the picture thread. $45?
I'd be interested in one of these, without a doubt. Need something to kill time, while I'm in the office.

I vote mine for the cover! j/k
I hope Porsche allowes it, However if they don't we could photoshop all of the Porsche logos away...which would suck, but we'd still have pics of our cars. just my .02

if my car made the calendar, I'd pay up to $50cdn or around $35-40USD max.
I've also got an idea, although all the main photos need to be super-highres, we could do a bleached and faded image behind the actual grid for the month, kinda like this:

I'll ask them about that, I like it, although it could look a bit cluddered, it gives more people a chance to be in it. I looks like you guys will be happy with the price i fetched, I still need to discuss with anyone else in charge of this what they think, and then ask you guys.
