what will you do when its time for CA smog test?
it will be really loud, too. REALLY loud.

but if you want to, run 2" piping from the "downpipe" all the way back, nothing bigger.

Not only will it be loud but it will also sound awful. You'll get that nasty, tinny/farty resonance that you hear coming out of a high schooler's Fast 'n' Furious Honda Civic.

Louder sure, why it's going to sound like Rice ****.

Not to be condescending, but you ARE in highschool right? You really are intent on having a non-street registered, trailer only car?

You realize that not street legal means not street legal right?

As in, if you get caught, you are in some serious trouble?

Again...why?

Take is from someone who has been there, done that in terms of where you are. I bought my first Porsche when I was 16. I'm 23 now, and you have no idea how much I've learned in 7 years of wrenching on these cars. You might THINK you're ready, but you're not.

Take some sage advice, keep the car stock and on the road; drive it and take the time to get more experience both as a driver and a mechanic since very honestly I've read your posts and it's clear you need to learn a lot more about cars, and a LOOOOT more about 944's before you decide you want to build and maintain a racecar.

Not trying to insult you, just trying to help

Yea I realize I need to kno more about 944's also but I have a 944 that I picked up for way cheap. And it owes bout 900$ in back fees and then I would still need to get it smogged, and I have friends who have been drifting for many years and 944's for like 6 years. And me and one of my friends are swapping heads in a couple days and I thought it'd be easier to make it a drift car other than bringing it to the street

Straight pipe 944 sounds pretty good actually - go to a 944Spec race if you can.
But they are LOUD

If your buddies are doing it too it sounds like you should go for it. definitely post some high quality audio videos as soon as possible. I'd like to know what this sounds like.
Unfortunately this is another 944 on its way to the junkyard. Just sayin, but you know it's true. $900 and smog is nothing compared to the money you'll spend. not to mention values are going up. $900 will pay for itself.
You'll never get to drive it out on the open road again, at least not with one eye on anything that looks like a police car.

Can you post a pic of the car? Sounds like fun what you're doing, would be cool to see that car.
