Default Woke up early this morning

Was up at 5. driving by 630am. The world was an adventure in the hills with no cell reception. Wilson performed superbly, especially considering he's rocking 29 year old shocks & struts...plus he needs an alignment... but ... Great heater! Great performing headlights, great sounding exhaust, great stock engine, great gears, great everything. Just happy to be alive! Wilson - I trust you with my life (literally)

Thanks you guys for the MAD PROPS... Yeah we lucked out by moving out here. The big thing is AutoX & Rallies as there is no track around here anymore... I wanna do Rallies but I'm worried about dying.

This makes me want to move back up north. I'm originally from Massachusetts, and visit New England every year or so (although, I haven't been since buying this car in NH in summer 2013). Miss it a lot.

Noah,

Can you send me some closer pics of your rear hatch latches ... need to modify the locking mechanism on the race car which took a severe hit to the left rear and knocked the alignment of the hatch to a degree !
It will be safer with two rubber latches than with the OEM locking mechanism ...
If anybody knows where to source those latches, please let me know.

Cheers
Phil

Sure, for starters may I recommend you do an image google search for "924 race hatch" methods:

Brother Wildcat,

This buds for you. Make it like this:

I have a similar set up but will make it like the one in the photo. 2 pieces of advice:
Go BEEFY & STIFF for the "battery hold down/bungy"- also by the shortest one you can. Mine are longer then ideal, which is why I want to modify the bracket like the one in the photo. For the bracket BEEFY & STIFF. Over build.

Wow, awesome. I considered putting the car on jack stands and taking the summer tires to be swapped with the snows and getting out. There's a 6" high berm of ice at the end of my driveway that the XC70 clears just fine. But I suspect the 944 would stall out hard.

Ballsy mountain driving. I'm too coddled by years of stout Jeeps and Volvos for my winter needs.

944 living for me, in a Colorado winter, means periodically checking the battery tender to make sure it is green. :-\

My S2 is pretty slammed and running on snows right now. No problems, take a pick to that ice and bust it down.

Hahaha... sounds like you know how to handle your conditions the smart way.

I have some brand new Blizzak tires, soft & grippy & wow!! They really make a difference. Nice & narrow.

I belive Sierra Madre Collection sells those (or a similar piece) as hood tie-downs for 911s. They have a few cool parts there intended for RS-style builds.
