going from 11.5->12.5 will be a smaller gain than going from 9.5-10.5.

the higher you go the gains get smaller and smaller (diminishing returns)...you get a tiny little bit more power, a little more torque, maybe some responsiveness at the low end...but you have to have reallly good fuel available. 94 octane, 100 octane, or e85...or a mixture.

there are some rough calculators online for CR changes but they aren't 100% accurate. but i would think going from 10.2 even to 13.5 you wouldn't break 170hp.

is that per block or per cylinder? either way, a good price!

Thanks for your response. Yup, that price was per hole.

nice.
like i said though, look up "plyhammer" in ohio, he has 1 or 2 2.7 engines for a very good price.

more cubes, higher CR, throw your hot cam on top and hang on.

maybe you can just *drive* the engine across rather than ship it...a nice 4000-mile round trip ...good time to get to know your new motor.

you could probably trade plyhammer your 88 for the 89 engine, or at least get partial credit...the 88 is valuable to spec racers here in the states...

Since I don't have the time required to study the homework Michael gave me regarding Megasquirt I thought perhaps I'd temporarily try and mount the "S" AFM, but it won't be a "bolt in" affair, so forget about it.

Had a great talk with Jason "the 944 maniac Gonzo" from R7 Racing in eastern USA. That dude is solid gold. Seriously. Mad props to him in every way.

Also, Minor changes on the sheet metal, pushed the bumper in & cut some nose holes.

Thank you for your kind words.

"Measures & counter-measures"... with every single modification there are decisions and compromises... Porsche knew what they were doing. Until the day they designed the sunroof.

Ok so lost maybe 6 pounds with cutting & hollowing out the front shocks for the bumper. I figure it stiffens the chassis, looks better & now I can mount a tow eye to the bumper because it's solid.

After having the car on jacks & dropping it, it really feels like a wide body... or maybe that was the beer talkin'.

A great example is these wheel well liners & my limited but growing awareness of what's involved.

Porsche wins 3 rounds in a row. This is the third time I have re-mounted the liners. They designed it well.

But I'll be back.

Here's what needs to happen to press in the bumper drill small hole to release coolant first (away from you) and then the rest is kind of intuitive. Today I gotta weld it up.

I don't know how I'm going to get outta this one! But here is the back side of nose panel. I lost a lot of weight off the bottom portion that really performs no task anyway. it's about 1/3rd lighter, but now I have a problem because the ram air mod I was going to do wasn't well thought out. The engineers are Wilson Racing have really been lagging behind & appear to be short sighted. Ram air works great on the race track but introduces snow, bugs & rain, leaves and dirt on a daily driver. Why didn't we think about that???

Cutting acrylic has been a somewhat crappy learning experience. All the youtube vids & tutorials have proved unfruitful, so I kept experimenting until something worked.

At long last... some lenses for Wilson's eyes.

I need to take a break from working on this car. It sure drives good now.
