Question Idiots lights on, please save me some time!

My seatbelt and airbag light remain on constantly now. What are the likely causes of this (annoying) problem. The DME was recently disconnected while attempting to diagnose a no-start problem. An O2 sensor was installed and wired right into the DME. Is there just a wire loose someplace, or did I lose a sensor(s), are the lights related, and where should I look first?

Thanks, as always, this is the best place to look for an idiot like me.

Not sure about the seat belt light, but I'm wondering if you didn't trip that airbag warning light by disconnecting the DME. You can try resetting it at www.clarks-garage.com . There is an article there about resetting it using a paperclip. Just measure the 5 seconds out exactly and you should have no problem resetting that light. Took me 2 tries.

Made up a connector and switch setup similar to the one on clarks garage, but I can't seem to locate the molex. Is it behind the kick panel for the DME or is it up higher, actually more behind the dash?

up higher--mine was (if you're facing forward) in the upper right corner way back up under the dash.

OK, sorry to keep bringing this back, but that didn't work. The light goes off, but comes right back on. Does this mean a sensor might be loose? Or is there something else to try?

OriginalSterm,

Did you resolve your problem? I just removed my gauge pod to replace a bulb and now I have the same problem (Seat belt and air bag light stay on).

not resolved yet. but the fault chart came back with a fault 30. which means i have to check the control lamp (?) and the connection in the wiring harness. still working on tracking down these two possibilities.

does anybody know what the control lamp is???
