$40 is too much, I'd be interested at a lower price.

I'd be one for the 944t clear items. Just skip the 944 and go on to the 951 lol

944 clear turns must come first! It's a small piece that I own a perfect copy of, so it'll be the best to experiment with so I don't waste as much silicon/resin if I screw up.

+1 for fog light lenses.

They are nearly $250 a piece! Which is why my 951 has one US and one EURO lense.

Have a summer internship in a couple weeks, and some necessary maintenance to do on the 944 beforehand. Once I'm at the apartment in a couple weeks though, I won't be allowed to work on my car so the projects will ensue for sure.

Those are glass and the copy needs to be perfect or the beam pattern will suuuuucccckkk. Would they hold up to 100w bulbs in the driving light slot if they are plastic?

Keith, have considered making tail lights later on? I know a local guy who has clear turn signals and they look awesome.

I don't want to rain on the parade but tail lights and fog lamp lenses are going to be borderline impossible with resin casting. I design these (and tons of other injection molded parts) at my day job, and the machining accuracy necessary to make the correct "scatter" of light is outside the realm of almost any machine shop. Look up a company called DBM Reflex, they make a ton of cash as being basically the only company in the world that has a process to make these reflective geometries. The turn signals and possibly some of the panels on the tail lamp lens are not, but I believe at least some of tail lamps are.

Another factor to consider is shrink, most molds are built .2 to 1% oversize since the parts shrink as they cool. Since you're copying already cooled parts, it will be difficult to copy the parts accurately and have them fit.

It's great to see people getting involved in making new parts for these cars and I want to encourage it, but just make sure can deliver. I for one would take some clear turn signals once I get my engine out and back in again...

The supplier claims negligible shrinkage, and I believe them. Ford motor company has used the exact product and process to restore their vintage museum cars lenses that have faded over time.

Isn't there a source for the clear tails already?
