This happened yesterday I parked my car and came bak half an hour later an the fan was still blowing. It's also -15 outside and the engine is not overheating or anything.
I did a search and it looks like relay or temp sensor?
I looked at paragon and there are two relays listed one is $240... it says auxiliary fan relay, and the other just says general relay g10.
My car is a late 85.5 by the way. anyone know what the proper relay I need is? I want to order it soon.

The more expensive relay is for late cars, unfortunately. Luckily, I doubt it's the relay...
Pull the air conditioner relay. If the fans stop, it's bad.
If they still run, disconnect a lead from the thermofan switch. If they immediately stop, your switch is stuck. It's a cheap part. My money is on the switch.

okay thanks guys. I thought it'll likely be the switch. I read that when the relays fail it usually doesn't run at all, and the temp switches usually fail in the off position.
next question. which temp switch should I go for, there are three different ones (different operating temperatures).
where I go to school, it can get to -30 in the winter so it's colder when i'm driving it there.

Get one that's closest to your thermostat temp. Where you're from, I would get the OEM spec (92 C IIRC) if you don't know what your thermostat temp rating is. Unless you're running hot on a regular basis, in which case go with a lower temp switch. Like 85 C or something

Also check the spade wire connections on the resistors under the plastic shroud at the base of the windshield on the passenger side.
I had a problem with the fan running when I first got my S2, and cleaning these connections up, applying some dialetric paste, and making sure the connections were tight solved the problem. A very cheap and easy fix!
