Ordered!

I have a 84 944, I picked up and in need of some T.L.C. and some attention to detail, in putting all the bits back on it! Someone painted in "Speed Yellow" so this thread will be helpful.

I have a lot of maintenance to do over the winter!

Timing belt, water pump, all the "rubber and hoses", wheels refinishing, DME getting sent to Rouge for chipping and a lot more!

Keep the ideas coming gents!

I'd say on my 924S
Braided brake lines-stiffer pedal
Spec clutch and lightweight flywheel
Schnell short shifter

On my 951
Stiffer springs and 1" lower
Braided brake lines
K26/8 upgrade.... Can't wait to go K27

I'm totally checking out only 944.com, short shifter looks great for the money
And the throttle body reseal looks sweet too

Anyone dynamat the rear hatch area? I was thinking of this

I used throttle body reseal kit shaft seals were toast crumbled like a domino tower, i only had a chance to drive the car for 20mins. And i felt the difference in throttle responce untill my tensioner roller bearing got stuck and threw my car of timing..

I know this is a bit off topic but I have to ask

Hey guys, I ran into an issue a couple days ago. I went to garage near here and had them do a service inspection (ones who knew what a 944 was of course) and here is the list of issues

Leaking oil pan
Leaking balance shafts
Leaking Crank shaft
Which means new belts too
Axle seals needed
New boots for axles
Shift selector seal
951 engine mounts
Front shocks leaking
Warping rotors
Thinning rotors
New fuel lines at engine
Electrical gremlin causing fan to randomly stay on, causing battery drain (somewhere in temp sensor line)

And all of this for around $2500...probably around 60%-70% of the total value of the car..... And as much as I want to fix this myself, this is my daily driver and absolutely no time to fix it with school. What would you guys do in this situation?

Keep driving it and adding oil till you have time to fix it. But thats just me, I have a severe aversion to anyone but me and close friends/family putting hands on my cars.

Do safety stuff first... I do the brakes honestly you can knock out brakes on a Saterday no problem. The leaks if leave and just make sure you check your oil everytime you take it out.... The fuel lines you can pickup a kit for $150 on eBay and do them yourself too, again another Saturday project

Trying to figure it out and prioritize. But, since the shocks most likely need to be changed, What are good springs for pleasure driving but not too harsh, since right now I have Koni Yellow sports now on full stiffness, and the LA highways are terrible to my suspension. I think the road ruffness is the main reason for the leaking shocks.

Thanks V2Rocket!

Heres a list of things Im telling the garage not to do
-Brakes
-Electrical Gremlin (heat sensor wire)
-Fuel lines
-5k service (easy)

What do you guys recommend brake wise? I was thinking of x drilled but i dont think i need to go that far. I was also looking at these.

Those rotors will be fine, for daily driving. The the slotted and drilled rotors are cool looking but, in my opinion and experience, they actually give less surface area for the pad and act like a cheese grater on the pad too.

I have a turbo S, so the biggest changes were a set of Autothority stage 2 chips and a 3" exhaust.

Of the parts that aren't turbo specific, I'm a huge fan of my brand new shift boot (so soft!) and engraved shift pattern cap. I did the stereo upgrade with a nice amp, and did some dynamat in the back. For something so small and silly, the billet sunvisor clips from Rennbay make me happy every time they go "click" when I put the visor back...

If you have a non-airbag car get a Momo steering wheel. I have a Monte Carlo in the '87 and love it.
