Default 944S (16valve) NA-Tune, dyno results!

I am nearly finished with the 944S (2.5L 16-valve) NA-Tune kit!
I spent today on the dyno, doing the final WOT tuning, and wanted to show the results of the NA-Tune vs the stock AFM & chip.

Tuning was done on a completely stock car. No other mods besides the NA-Tune:

Impressive results for the first time out. Looks like you may be able to hold peak tq and make s bit more power with a bit more time.

Good work!!

Wish I could have made it today.

Looks awesome! I can't wait to drive it again. It's making more power than I expected and the torque curve is flatter that I expected too. Great work Josh.

Agreed! The car is a blast.
Interesting observation: It is quite obvious to see the intake manifold resonance tuning that Porsche did - that is what gives the hp/tq the 'roller-coaster' look. I bet with some good cams & the NA-Tune, the car would be close to 180rwhp...

I wonder what it'd look like with an s2 intake on it, people seem to have good luck swapping those on, and you can actually reach the throttle...

big improvement!

Great job Joshua!!! I can't wait to see what you can do with the S2!

In terms of S2 upgrades, I wonder what a NA Tune+ 968 intake would do? Didn't Porsche redesign the intake manifold for power gains?

Why not just go to the 968 intake, it bolts up too.

Kind of OT, but I believe the runners of the 968 manifold are much larger in diameter than the intake ports in the head. So you'd have a big *** step going from one to the next. I don't know whether or not that would cause issues (likely not) but its something to consider.

Back on topic, this is EXCITING!!! Any comments on the drivability and feel of the car? One thing I've always hated about my car is how much of a difference there is between WOT and not WOT (gets a bit raspy up top until you hit WOT). Always wished it was slightly more seamless.

Mine has this set up and it looks like...well, an S2 motor. I don't want to post a pic here 'cause its not the point of the thread. But if you're curious let me know.

I wonder if this MAF would complement the S2 intake. I hope so, at least!

Just blew the car budget on the RX-7 race car...but put me on the list anyway. I want that 26 year old AFM gone.
