having helped a buddy build an ultima gtr...they do not cost 20g to build, the starter kit alone is like 45g. then add the engine, which while most use a simple chevy 350 with around 500hp, he decided a 1000hp Hennessey sourced ford gt engine would be more fun...he nailed that one on the head. his total was over 200k(I think 80 for the engine alone, plus install) then labor of putting it together

Well I have a couple of Mustangs, and rebuilding an old Vette. So I would either get into the BMWs or (ok get ready to laugh) a Mit 3000 or Dodge Stealth, I always thought they were cool looking cars. Know nothing about them, thye may be PIS cars. But always thought they had potential.

in realistic terms, the SLC costs about $80 k to get a good running car on the road.... add about 4 k more for AC, another $few k, for a killer dash (that i'll make myself, Porsche 996/7 instrument panel, leather, stereo, etc....

$80 k~$110 k for do-it-yourself.... $120 K~$180 k for turnkey versions.

what I can't stand is how poorly people do their exhausts.... what would be ideal would be shorty headers, resonators, X-pipe then full sized glasspack Magnaflows. even more silly, is guys running 911 transaxles upside down, when all they need are 968 trannies running the taller gears and LSD for just a few grand.

i'm going to run the same LS7 short stroke, 388c.i. engine.... also nice to know, after I build up the transmission in my car i'll have the right box for the SLC project (hopefully, 2015 or 2016).

running at VIR..... sounds like 3rd and 4th gear.

dyno....

on the street (best if you watch in 480p res).

Stacy's running the wrong transmission (upside down).

needs a 944 or 968 transmission with tall gearing combos (rightside up).

the black one below is running a rebuilt lexus engine and twin turbos.
