Default Distributor cap cover.... how to make it hold in place?

Probably a stupid question but...Title is pretty clear, I cant find how to make it stick there.

I can't turn it.

It's loose, it won't hold in place.

Is there something I don't understand?

The rotor won't make it stay in place...

so what is it?

thanks

you talking about the dust cover? it just sits around the rotor and that upper notch fits in there. Once you attach the dist. cap it holds the cover as well. If you are talking about the dist. cap itself, put it in place, turn the upper screw to the right until it stops, then push it in and turn another quarter turn. Same with lower.

yep, talking about the dust cover. If I inserted the rotor, it will slip right off. It doesn't make it hold in place

I just purchased a Bosch dust cover, and my rotor is an LR aftermarket... could that be the reason? Do I need a Bosch dust cover + a Bosch Rotor ??????

put a small amount of white lithium grease to stick it on before you put on the cap

As previously posted, use a small dab of lithium grease, dielectric grease or even crazy glue (very small amount in one spot only) until you get the distributor cap in place.
