Default 944S at junkyard - Denver, CO

I came across a 944S at a junkyard and thought I would let the locals know about it. I don't currently have a 944 so I thought I would pass the info along. It's a black 16 valve with most of the parts on it. It doesn't appear to be wrecked. Do not know much more than that. They were closing when I spotted it and didn't have time to do a close inspection.

Seems like I remember that engines are around $200.

if you happen to go back, please check if the crank turns over freely and that the cams spin freely (to see if the belts are intact and no valve damage has occurred).

if it seems like it is in good shape, assuming shipping isn't terrible, i would pay you to get it, if youre interested/capable of pulling the motor

again, another west coast deal that will slip away like a fart in the wind. its difficult, for some reason, to find 944's here in Ohio, let alone in neighboring states. i actually had to travel to Michigan for my 944.

I know this is 13 years later after this post but that same yard now has 2 924’s and a 944 sitting in it, the 944 has had a lot of its stuff grabbed though

If it is a red S with red rustoleum on the driver front fender, it may be the one we blew up a few years ago. It had Koni circumcised sport shocks, and S2 sway bars. The motor had 180k, an odometer that didnt work, and bore scoring.
